Our Photo Archives takes a trip to germany today with the addition of the JEDI-CON 2004 Convention Exclusive two-pack, which includes specially packaged versions of the previously-released Clone Trooper and the Super Battle Droid. This set was available at the Jedi-Con convention in Congress Center Düsseldorf (CCD South), Germany last April, and is limited to 2,500 sets. Thanks to Toy Palace for providing the set.

Let's start by saying a minimum of 5000 articles (give or take 4900) will be written in 2004 declaring Linux "finally ready for the desktop," up from 3000 (give or take 2900) similar articles in 2003.

So it probably would have helped if I had looked up what the hell this event was supposed be about. I all I knew was that it was Hawaiian themed - something so recockulous it had to be worth going to - and that there would be Products there. Unfortunately, I had no idea what Products there would actually be, but as I'm sitting here, sipping Amstel, it's starting to look a lot like your typical technology journalism sausage fest that most of these product showcases turn into.

A whole roasted baby big just floated by at eye level, though, so that's something.

That would be "Why are the Yanks so fat?" to you and I. This was the slogan used in Germany for a recent Subway/Super Size Me joint advertising campaign. Accompanying the advert was a rounded looking image (full size) of the Statue of Liberty carrying burgers and fries. Did Subway go too far in this campaign, or were they unfairly vilified for their jest?
