Perl! Chris Ball puts the two things together, to ensure that he never

HierMenus 5.3.1: Release Notes
01/07/2004 06:42 PMWith new browsers come new problems, prompting this HierMenus
maintenance release. Both the latest Safari (1.1) and Opera (7.21,
7.22) releases triggered errors, specifically in cross-frames
scenarios, which are now corrected in HierMenus 5.3.1. If you have a
cross-frames implementation and you need to support Opera and/or
Safari, upgrading to HM 5.3.1 is highly recommended. By D.M. Ragle

Reading over the release notes for

Reading over the release notes for recent Eudora betas I noticed a
lot of negative comments about OS X. Some may merely be factual -- I
don't have the expertise to say. But there's an undercurrent of
bitterness that is undeniable: "...[A]pple's broken OSX network
reachability call ... OSX control manager bug ... broken Jaguar
Unicode converter ... [A]pple no longer believes in
colored [menu] text ..." and the most bitter, "OS SUX doesn't allow
dragging by window edges..."
I've always appreciated the candor in Qualcomm's update notes. Unlike
Apple, they don't say "improved functionality of feature X" when they
really mean "fixed stupid bug in feature X." But I'm wondering if
there is some larger significance to these comments. Does Qualcomm
have insufficient luv for OS X to keep Eudora competitive long-term?
How common are these sentiments among old-school Mac developers? Would
it all be better in Cocoa? Any developers with comments, I'm all
ears. Discuss
