today. Apparently there is a X-Wing and TIE Fighter two pack coming
our way! The ships are packaged with an window box front displaying
both ships in a dogfight of sorts. The set also includes two action
figures, Luke Skywalker ( X-Wing Pilot ) and a TIE Fighter pilot.
Now, will it be an exclusive, and how much will it cost is another
question!

This vehicle is the same version as
last year's Saga
release, only this time there is no pilot included. Look for the

Eurobricks forum post
features what appears to be the first 'official' images of the LEGO
mystery set 10131. So far LEGO has remained very hush hush
about the contents of this set, but according to the latest images it
appears it will include Darth Vader's TIE, possibly two standard TIE
Fighters, and TIE Fighter (Drone?) from the Rogue Squadron video game.
While we look forward to official confirmation from LEGO, it seems we
can at least pencil this in as mystery solved.

gap. This requires long range autonomous strike weaponry. The Joint
Strike Fighter does not solve this issue and detrimentally places
added pressure on Australia's limited force of aerial refuelling
assets. The world's defence manufacturers are not creating strike
platforms that solve Australian needs. For this reason, Australia
needs to look to other nations with similar defence needs. In this
case, Japan, South Korea and Taiwan all face defending an air-sea gap.
Australia should enter a partnership with these nations to create a
strike fighter that satisfies the strategic needs of defending an
air-sea gap. The benefits of such a partnership will be many.

As we talked
about this weekend, Rio has announced at least one new player, an
update to the Rio Nitrus called the 'Rio Carbon,' a 5GB hard
disk-based MP3 player with a killer 20-hour battery life (if that's
the sort of thing that slays you; the iPod mini does about 8 to 10
hours, for comparison). Interestingly, the Carbon also has support for
Microsoft's new DRM platform, Janus; to my knowledge it's the first
player that has.
The Rio Carbon should be available late August and will retail for
$250. Now where's the Rio Chroma announcement?

Momodesign, maker of all sorts of
middle-to-high-end automotive and cycling parts has revealed their new
Bluetooth Motorcycle Helmet, the result of a collaboration with
Motorola. And while the technology itself isn't especially notable -
it is just a Bluetooth headset, after all - I think the helmet design
is just lovely. I'm a huge fan of open-face helmets, even if they
aren't as safe. Jaw-droppingly unsafe, you could say.
And if you're taking a call on the helmet and have stopped riding,
the headset detaches and can be worn in a neck loop. Now I just need
to get a bike.

Pilot. Not only did today’s addition to the
Vintage Photo Archive
have to live without a name (or face for that matter) of his own, he
had to haul butt in a fast moving ball with two huge targets mounted
on its sides and try making it through a battle without the luxury of
shields of any kind. On a plus note, he did get to blow up defending a
giant space orb of evil that, by design, tends to be built
specifically to be inevitably destroyed by upstart rebels...
