It was brought to my attention today that Yahoo is copyrighting the RSS feeds for those that are setting up Yahoo 360 accounts. Some are already refusing to use the service because in a sense Yahoo now owns your content.

This may be a oversight on Yahoo's part and I hope it is, I will probaly use their service anyway but probably not the blog portion and give them some time to answer these issues. [Yahoo 360 Copyrights Personal RSS Feeds]

Rebecca is blogging from about the Japan sessions at the World Economic Forum meeting going on right now in Seoul. The theme seems to be about recovery. This year at Davos, I was in the audience and Rebecca was moderating a similar panel. Unfortunately, I'm not there this time to heckle. ;-)

At the Annual Meeting in Davos this past January, I moderated a panel titled Making Japan's Recovery Last . Panelists were generally optimistic that the recovery could be sustained, as long as the government continued with structural reforms. However some members of the audience including venture capitalist and WEF GLT Joi Ito expressed concern that the economic upturn would be used as an excuse not to forge ahead with tough reforms. It appears that Takenaka is determined not to let that happen. He says he has the Prime Minister's support. But what about the rest of the Japanese bureaucracy?

I hope Takenaka is right. I'm still quite concerned that economic recovery will cause people to be complacent about reform, but as Rebecca points out, the drivers for the current recovery might be different from the past. I suppose that if Takenaka and Koizumi continue to focus on this aggressive reform at home, we might have a chance.

Thanks <b>SYBOLD</b>. According to the report at Reuters, MSN Japan, joining hands with local content provider, T.O.S Co. Ltd., will launch a Blogging service by next week.

The Blogging culture has in deed made its impression to Microsoft's chairman, Bill Gates whom <a href=http://www.neowin.net/comments.php?id=21759&category=main target=_blank>hinted not long ago that he too, could start blogging</a>. MSN hopes to compete with Google's Blogger and expected one million users in the first year.

Apart from supporting the overwhelming demands in the country where 9 out of 10 houses are web-enabled, MSN Japan is also hoping to use this service as advertising medium.

"Magazines, for example, cannot hit a break-even point if the circulation is below 100,000. We target one million users to be recognized as an effective advertising vehicle," said MSN Japan GM, Yoshie Furukawa.

The service, according to Furukawa, will differentiate from others by supporting mobile devices to allow users to read or update their blog on mobile phones.

It is still unclear whether the service will also be offered in other countries.
