Tapwave Zodiac in Retail

Tapwave Zodiac in Retail 06/18/2004 04:17 PM

zodiacincradle.jpg
The Tapwave Zodiac, the PDA/MP3 player/Game Platform has snuck into the retail channel a few days before its scheduled June 24th ship date. NYC J&R Music and Computer World stores and, by extension, Amazon.com now have both the 32MB and the 128MB models available.

With a nice 480x320 16-bit display, an analog control stick, a mess o' gaming adapted buttons, all running on PalmOS 5.2T, the Zodiac sure looks like a neat PDA for someone with a gaming streak.

Another Tapwave Zodiac review

Another Tapwave Zodiac review 11/14/2003 04:03 PM
Another review of the new Zodiac, Tapwave's Palm PDA designed specifically for playing games, this one by Mike Langberg of the San Jose Mercury News. He does make one good point about the Zodiac though, that there will probably be limited number of top-quality games available to play on it. Since the Zodiac costs a lot more than a Game Boy Advance, Tapwave isn't likely to sell more than a few hundred thousand of them (at best), which is too few for most game developers to bother creating titles that really take advantage of its capabilities.
