Linksys has shipeed a WiFi box with a built-in DVD player to move AV stuff (movies, pix, songs) from your PC to your home theater.

The DVD Player with Wireless-G Media Link sits by the television and stereo and connects to them using standard composite, component A/V or S-Video cables. Then it connects to your home network by Wireless-G (802.11g) networking, or if users prefer, it can be connected via standard Ethernet cabling. The Media Link also works in peer-to-peer mode (direct connection between the media adapter and wired or wireless enabled computer) so no Internet service is required, unless Internet radio is desired.

Kyocera isn't the only camera company taking hot fashion tips from Apple's iPod mini. Adesso has a new line of new cameras that seem to match, at least superficially, the green, pink, and blue colors of the mini. However, in an interesting break from Kyocera's form, the Adesso cameras seem to be exceptionally, well, crappy, with the high end model rolling in with a 1.3-megapixel sensor. I guess hoping for an LCD on the back of these is asking too much, huh? I think this is one time when following the 'smaller is better' ethic is probably a misstep.

Author Shelley Jackson is publishing her new book, Skin, on the bodies of volunteers. Each of the necessary 2,095 participants will be tattooed with a single word from the text:

"From this time on, participants will be known as 'words.' They are not understood as carriers or agents of the texts they bear, but as its embodiments. As a result, injuries to the printed texts, such as dermabrasion, laser surgery, tattoo cover work or the loss of body parts, will not be considered to alter the work. During the boom years, Outpost.com had a commercial where they joked about tattooing the outpost.com log on the heads of babies to "get 'em while they're young." Real life imitated satire last year when people started offering to auction off various body parts for advertising tattoos on eBay. However, it sounds like companies were still a bit wary of agreeing to dot com style stunts. That phase passed, however, and in April, a man successf ully sold the back of his head for an advertising tattoo for $7,000 (for five years, which seems like a pretty cheap deal for all involved). At the time, we pointed out that the hype surrounding the story from the company (CI Host) seemed a bit overblown. They claimed that it was making news everywhere - but the only news we could find (and we're pretty good at finding news around here) was the press release the company issued. So, 9 months later, I'm going to take their claims with a grain of salt when they say that the advertising campaign of the man walking around with the CI Host logo tattooed to his head has directly led to 500 new customers. Signing up for a webhost isn't exactly an impulse buy - and in the rare instance where it is an impulse buy, it's because you're sitting at a computer and have a domain name you want to host. You don't see a strange man with a corporate tattoo on his head walking down the street, and suddenly decide it's time to rush home and sign up with that company to host your website. Well, at least I wouldn't.

Anything but cool, I wanted my money back at the end of this one. Catching a John Travolta film is always a gamble and he was alright in this, playing his typical Vincent Vega character, but the rest of it was just crap. I expected to like Vince Vaughn's character more, but it took about two seconds for you to get his whole schtick and then it just became really really tiresome. I did laugh out loud once -- Cedric the Entertainer as a reformed gangbanger-turned-rapper/producer/millionaire rolls up with his posse and they're all wearing tshirts with basketball jerseys over them and Cedric has a **button-down** shirt with a jersey over it -- but that was the only highlight. Metacritic, I will never doubt you again.

That way if I talked about FOAF - for instance - someone like danbri could scarf JUST the FOAF posts and do anything he wanted with them!

This would create an incredible two-way kind of capability because systems could then communictae back to me based upon what I said. I know I know -it's RSS2.0 but that becomes a really nice gateway to a world that has 75% market share of feeds(maybe even more.)
