"phpstack contains a very, very simple TCP/IP stack. The stack is tailored explicitly for the purpose of answering pings, incoming TCP requests, opening up a connection, and sending out responses to incoming data. This functionality is enough to be able to support a small web server. The stack does not handle two-way communication, nor does it have the ability to support long-running connections." Story

microdrive2123.jpg imageWe been hearing rumblings about hard drives being put into cellular phones for a while now (we've certainly advocated it), but now a company called "Hoya Corp" revealed in a quarterly earnings statement that two major hard drive players - Hitachi Global Storage Technologies and Seagate - are planning on developing 1" hard drives for cellular phones. I sincerely hope that the hard drives are technically incapable of storing ringtones, because I can't imagine what life would be like if people could fit about 10,000 of the damn things in one device. I mean, really; 10,000 songs in your pocket? Who would want that?

I have this hard drive that cannot be reformatted. Whenever reformatting is taking place the hard disk reader head stops reading after certain sectors. When the "dir" command is used to view the disk, the files are shown but not the total about of bytes used up or free. The cursor seems to stop before this infomation is shown. Could it be that the FAT table has been damaged.
