Recipient Warehousing
12/22/2004 01:05 AM
Most companies large enough to employ a full-time communication professional have adopted or at least investigated the use of email for targeted customer communication. In doing so, they have usually been frustrated by two challenges: the difficulty of creating a recipient data warehouse without on-site technical expertise, and spam. Today, L-Soft is launching a new version of its LISTSERV(R) product line that addresses these issues, and many more. [PRWEB Dec 21, 2004]

Los Angeles Times - FORT MYERS, Fla. — As rare back-to-back tropical storms — one a hurricane, the other likely to become one — churned Wednesday toward Florida, Gov. Jeb Bush declared a statewide emergency and mobilized the National Guard. Tourists were told to evacuate the low-lying Florida Keys.

When Everything Is In Focus

When Everything Is In Focus 09/13/2004 01:12 PM
An imaging technology originally designed for military-grade night vision systems is being talked about for its potential move to camera phones. The technology makes sure that everything in the picture is in focus -- even if items are at different distances from the camera itself. In other words, no more worrying about which item in the frame of view to focus on -- they'll all be in focus. In camera phones that don't always have the greatest ability to focus in the first place, this could be a huge improvement. It might get a few of those analysts who keep complaining that camera phones don't take very good pictures to wake up and realize that technology actually improves over time. The technology described here involves both a special lens and a processing technique, but is not that expensive. It also gets rid of the need for autofocus technology, which could save some space as well.
