The name implies that this version of the iPod software should have been released last week, but Apple's iPod Updater 2004-08-06 is now making the rounds and can be downloaded through the Software Update system preference pane or from Apple's Web site. iPod Updater 2004-08-06 contains iPod software v3.0.1 -- for new "fourth generation" iPods equipped with a Click Wheel. The updater also includes the same version of software for all other iPods that was included with the iPod Updater 2004-07-15 release.
