Kerry Returns to Battleground Campaign
(AP)
07/26/2004 05:21 AMAP - On the eve of his party's convention, John Kerry is returning to
Florida, a state seemingly as divided in this election as it was when
its fiercely contested recount handed the White House to George W.
Bush four years ago.

Kerry gaining in battleground states
09/21/2004 04:42 PMSixteen new Zogby state polls written up in the
Wall Street Journal show John
Kerry's standing improving Florida, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. If
those states were to go his way, it would translate to a 125-52
battleground state lead for Kerry in electoral vote projections -- but
considering that the margins in PA and WI are less than three points,
and in Florida, less than one point, all three states are still
toss-ups.

09/14/2004 05:06 PMAP - President Bush has been solidifying his gains in states that once
were dead heats, forcing both parties' campaigns to alter strategies
as the electoral battleground shrinks. Democrat John Kerry is
struggling to stay afloat in some hotly contested states, including
Missouri, Wisconsin and Ohio, where polls show Bush pulling ahead.

09/12/2004 05:14 AMwashingtonpost.com - President Bush's post-convention bounce in state
and national polls has left Democratic challenger John F. Kerry with a
smaller battlefield upon which to contest the presidential election
and a potentially more difficult route to an electoral college victory
than his advisers envisioned a few months ago.

Unisys suddenly loves Linux: Should
Linux users return that love?
Unisys suddenly loves Linux: Should
Linux users return that love?
08/16/2004 02:19 PM Unisys has long been the main booster -- possibly the only one
besides Microsoft -- of Windows as a mainframe operating system. Now
Unisys says it loves Linux -- but still claims to be a staunch
Microsoft partner -- and it seems like most of its contributions to
the Linux kernel are only useful to Unisys customers. And then there's
the specter of the Unisys GIF patents (now expired), and how the
company used them as weapons against free and open source software
projects only a few years ago. In light of all this, should we welcome
Unisys as a "member of the Linux community" with open arms, or
maintain a skeptical distance until the company proves that it has
truly seen the open source light?

MOSIX Cluster Management 1.13.1 for
Linux 2.4.30 (Linux 2.4 branch)
04/07/2005 10:26 AMMOSIX is a management system that allows a cluster
of x86 nodes to perform like a parallel computer.
It is particularly suitable to run intensive
computing and massive I/O applications. In a MOSIX
system there is no need to modify applications,
link them with any library, or even assign
processes to different nodes. It is done
automatically, just "fork and forget", like in an
SMP system. MOSIX is geared toward improved
performance, overhead-free scalability and
ease-of-use.
