Safari 1.3 has a JavaScript Console
04/16/2005 02:12 PMMy single biggest complaint about Safari in the past has been its
terrible support for
JavaScript debugging. Safari 1.3 has just been released, and tucked
away in the
Debug menu is a brand new JavaScript console option. It's not as
good as the Firefox equivalent (it throws up far too many "Undefined
value, line: 0" errors for my liking) but it's a big step in the right
direction.

command, users can create AppleScript scripts that interact with the
Safari JavaScript DOM (Document Object Model). Apple provides sample
scripts along with links to Safari Developer FAQ, Safari JavaScript
DOM Part 1 and Safari JavaScript DOM Part 2.

Over the course of this tutorial, I'll be examining Perl's
arrays in detail, explaining what they are, how they work, and how you
can use them to get things done faster, better and cheaper. In
addition to providing a gentle introduction to Perl arrays and hashes
in general, this article will also offer you a broad overview of
Perl's array manipulation functions, providing you with a handy
reference that should help you write more efficient code.

enterprise Wi-Fi networks. The WLAN Array integrates the functionality
of a WLAN switch and up to 16 integrated access points into a single
device that delivers Gigabit-class RF bandwidth. The WLAN
architecture's array controller features a 2Gbps switching fabric that
controls the packet flows of the integrated access points and provides
complete spectrum management. The WLAN's directionalized antenna
system offers increased rate and range in all directions. The
architecture also features tri-mode 802.11 a/b/g support for existing
and emerging mobile devices.

Intaglio: May the Quartz Be with You
Intaglio: May the Quartz Be with You
03/28/2005 11:20 PMMatt Neuburg (~1640 words)
Remember the magical feeling you had when
you first used a Macintosh, and played with those early bundled
applications, MacPaint and MacDraw? The magic - though you may not
have been conscious of this at the time - lay in the fact that these
tiny applications were essentially just showcases for the Mac's
underlying technology. You could draw a square or an oval, with a
thick or thin line, filled solid or with a pattern, because those were
all basic QuickDraw primitives; in effect, you were accessing the very
same code that gave the Mac itself its distinctive look, allowing it
to draw windows and buttons in the first place.
