Microsoft gives middle finger to Poor
and Corporate America
09/25/2004 07:57 PMMicrosoft's decision not to retrofit security updates for IE for
any other version besides Windows XP has a lot of people upset.
Imagine if you are on a limited income and can not afford to upgrade
from Windows 98 to Windows XP. Also what if you are corporate entity
and you have 1000's of PC's that run windows 2000.
Their is a simple answer for those running Windows 2000, switch to
Firefox but that still leaves the Poor to fend for themselves. They
are the ones that are more likely to not have up to date virus
protection, firewalls or spyware software. So much for their security
incentive. Bad Bad Microsoft. [Dan Gillmor]
