01/04/2005 11:22 AM
Description: Secunia Research has discovered a vulnerability in Mozilla / Mozilla Firefox, which can be exploited by malicious people to spoof the source displayed in the Download Dialog box. The problem is that long sub-domains and paths aren’t displayed correctly, which therefore can be exploited to obfuscate what is being displayed in the source field of the Download Dialog box. The vulnerability has been confirmed in Mozilla 1.7.3 for Linux, Mozilla 1.7.5 for Windows, and…

“A vulnerability has been reported in Mozilla and Mozilla Firefox, allowing malicious websites to spoof the user interface. The problem is that Mozilla and Mozilla Firefox don’t restrict websites from including arbitrary, remote XUL (XML User Interface Language) files. This can be exploited to “hijack” most of the user interface (including tool bars, SSL certificate dialogs, address bar and more), thereby controlling almost anything the user sees….A PoC (Proof of Concept) exploit for Mozilla Firefox…

Stowe does Europe

Stowe does Europe 06/21/2004 08:30 PM

Like any true blue American Stowe Boyd is doing Europe this summer - just when the airfares go up.

What a coincidence - I am too! But I'm waiting till the end of the summer, to do a house trade in Amsterdam. That way I can make it to the FOAF confab and do a series of "micro-content" dinners in NYC, London, Trieste and Amsterdam (twice.)

Here's Stowe's itinery. I definitely wanna meet his friend George.

Down and Out in London, Amsterdam, and Nice

Turns out that I will be roaming the European landmass next month, with Greg Narain, like a very small band of Vandals.

* London - I am speaking at the Symposium on Social Tools in the Enterprise, 12 July, a get-together I have blogged on a few times already.
* I will be speaking somewhere in Amsterdam on 13 July: Social Tools: Get Connected in the Post-Everything Economy. My buddy, George Witteveen is the organizer, if you are interested in learning about time/locale.
* 14-15 July, I will be in Nice, at the iDate conference, talking about the 'Third Space' that online community provides.

I look forward to meeting with Get Real readers in these cities. Contact me if you have any questions about these events.
