Konica Minolta DiMAGE Z3 on the Horizon?

Konica Minolta DiMAGE Z3 on the Horizon? 07/03/2004 11:36 AM

konica_minolta_dimage_z3.jpg imageRumors ahoy, ye scurvy easy pirate allusions! Photography Blog totally says that Digital Camera Magazine totally says that there might be a new Konica Minolta DiMAGE coming out, Z3 they're saying, with a 12x optical zoom, anti-shake technology, predicate focus control, all-glass GT APO lens ... lots more betterness. So as Mark Goldstein admonishes, if you were about to plunk down cash on the barrelhead for the Z2, you might want to wait a couple of weeks to see if any of this pans out.

Oh, and to wrap up the half-assed theme, I stole Mark's image. Avast!

Konica Minolta DiMAGE A2 Review

Konica Minolta DiMAGE A2 Review 05/31/2004 08:32 AM

190 imageHardwareZone has a review of Konica Minolta's DiMAGE A2, the 8-megapixel update to the A1 that keeps the 7x optical zoom and Anti-Shake system. Although it's not new, the Anti-Shake system is interesting, with a CCD sensor that actually moves back and forth according to input from motion sensors, compensating for shaky hands and other movements and enabling photographers to use slower shutter speeds. It suffers from the same noisy images other high-megapixel cameras have, but still remains a solid prosumer camera, at least according to HardwareZone. For 2 large, it better be.

DSLR, DiMAGE A200
09/15/2004 07:46 AM

Minolta has officially announced that DSLR camera we talked about a few days ago, the Dynax 7D/Maxxum 7 (the US gets the Maxxum name because we do everything to the max). It is 6.1-megapixels, has built-in anti-shake technology (developed by Mooninites?) and will use the Dynax AF set of Minolta lenses. No price yet, though, so we'll just keep an eye on it for now and wait for some of the camera dorks to get their hands on review units.

Minolta also announced an 8-megapixel "SLR-type" DiMAGE called the A200 [the one of the right], if you want all the megapixels but not all the quality, control, or function of the 7D.

Digital Video Cameras 10/29/2003 01:15 AM

I need some recommendations for a digital video camera. My requisites are few: It needs to be fairly inexpensive (under $500), use FireWire for transfer and have a track record for working well with Macs.

It need not be a spectacular camera, but one of the best I can get for my price range.
