Apple has, for the second time, expanded its coverage of its iBook Logic Board Repair Extension Program. The program will correct certain defects on iBooks manufactured between May 2001 and October 2003, and will reimburse iBook owners for expenses incurred to correct eligible repairs out of warranty as well.

Apple Computer Inc. on Wednesday announced a new program that will help owners of the company's iBook laptop computer. The iBook Logic Board Repair Extension Program is a worldwide program covering repair or replacement of the logic board in specific iBook models manufactured between May 2002 and April 2003.

First announced in January 2004, Apple's iBook Logic Board Replacement program has been extended until March 18. The program covers specific iBook models manufactured between May 2002 and April 2003; many of those computers have experienced logic board component failures that led to video display problems. iBooks with serial numbers in the UV117XXXXXX to UV342XXXXXX range are covered by this program, which allows owners of affected computers to send them to an Apple repair center for free servicing.
