that version 6.0 of its
Creative Manager Pro
application will be released in mid-February. It adds support in Mac
OS X v10.3 (Panther) for calendar and contact sharing with iCal and
Address Book, as well as a new sync and sharing tool that will allow
you to take Web-based calendars and contact lists on the road.

REALbasic 5.5.2, a
maintenance update of its cross-platform software development platform
that works with Mac, Windows and Linux operating systems. The new
5.5.2 release, a free update for registered 5.5 users, supports an SQL
database capability to update mis-formed date and time values when
used in tables and adds support for SQL RecordSet.Delete command, and
adds a dataControl command to handle text encoding. Network interfaces
can be assigned to specific Server Sockets to help eliminate conflicts
as those interfaces are accessed. Other changes have been made to
improve Linux support as well. REALbasic starts at US$99.95 and
requires Mac OS X v10.1 or 8.6 or later. A demo version is available.

PhotoBridge HD1000 digital media player, which connects to a home
entertainment system and provides a way for computer users to play
music, show pictures and play computer-based video. The new 2.0
release will add support for unencrypted AAC music files, commonly
used by iTunes users looking to save space on their hard disks
compared to MP3 files.

ConceptDraw to version 5.2, which improves the support of Visio XML
document import. It also features several performance enhancements and
bug fixes. The upgrade is

download for registered ConceptDraw 5 users. The full version is
US$249 for the professional edition and $149 for the standard edition,
with discounts available for multiple licenses. A 30-day trial version
is available for download from the CS Odessa Web site. System
requirements call for Mac OS X v10.1.5 or higher (v10.2.5
recommended), a G3 or better processor, 128MB RAM (256MB recommended)

Improves Stability -- Microsoft has released an update to the
English and Japanese versions of Microsoft Office 2004 (French,
German, Italian, and Swedish versions still to come). All Office
programs gain improved display of inserted PICT images and correct
importing of black-and-white scans from Xerox scanners. In addition,
Excel 2004 features improved performance when calculating array
formulas that include a user-defined function, PowerPoint 2004 better
handles opening presentations with invalid font information, and
there's a fix that could cause Office 2004 programs to freeze when
users with Adobe Acrobat opened documents containing forms created in
Visual Basic for Applications. The 17.4 MB update is available via the
Microsoft AutoUpdate utility (look in your Applications folder) or as
