Our next guestbar resident, Christopher Coppola, has completed eight feature motion pictures. The latest of these is Creature of the Sunny Side-Up Trailer Park (a.k.a. Bloodhead), which had its world premiere during the 2003 Toronto International Film Festival. The film stars screen legends Frank Gorshin and Shirley Jones, and television icons Lynda Carter and Bernie Kopell. His other film credits include the Trimark Pictures release Deadfall (1993) starring Nicolas Cage, Michael Biehn, and James Coburn; Gunfighter (1998) starring Martin Sheen, Robert Carradine, and Clu Gulager; Palmer's Pick-Up: An American Roadshow Odyssey (1999) starring Robert Carradine and Rosanna Arquette; Dracula's Widow (1989) which he produced for De Laurentiis Entertainment Group; G-Men From Hell (2000) starring William Forsythe, Tate Donovan, and Gary Busey; Bel-Air (2000) starring Charles Fleischer and Barbara Bain; and Clockmaker (1998), a children's fantasy film shot on location in Romania for Kuschner-Locke.

Christopher is co-founder and spokesperson for Ars Nova XXI, the mother company of PlasterCITY Productions (an independent feature and television production company that concentrates on HD digital format) and PlasterCITY Digital Post (a post-production facility that specializes in editing and onlining for feature films, television, shorts, commercials, and music videos.)

Director and digital filmmaking evangelist Christopher Coppola (IMDB link, production company link) launched a photo/audio/mobile/text blog a few months ago. Lately, it's really falling into a sweet stride. At left, a photo posted today to mark the passing of a family member. Verizon Wireless says they've blanketed Los Angeles and environs: Its BroadbandAccess service, its name for the package of 1xEv-DO they've rolled out (or just plain EVDO if you want to be simpler about it) fills Los Angeles County, parts of Riverside County and San Bernadino County, and most of San Diego and Orange County. Overall, about 4400 square miles of coverage across populated SoCal. This announcement is interesting because it was never entirely clear how much of a metropolitan area that Verizon intended to install EVDO throughout--100 percent? 95 percent? The city but not the suburbs? Their work here is a clear signal that they're talking metro deployment, not urban deployment....

The software features full multitrack editing and mixing, more than 50 effect plug-ins from Apple's Logic Pro 7 software, and more than 1,000 sound effects, along with waveform editing functions and other capabilities. Coming in May for US$299, Soundtrack Pro is also being included as part of Apple's Final Cut Studio -- a $1,299 package that includes Final Cut Pro 5, Motion 2 and DVD Studio Pro.
