EasyAsk is a search and retrieval solutions company that provides single point access to critical content and insight for the enterprise, for e-commerce and ISVs.

The Different Ecommerce Habits Of Men

The Different Ecommerce Habits Of Men
And Women
11/10/2003 11:02 PM
A pair of unrelated studies suggest that online shopping habits of men and women really don't sound all that different from the offline shopping habits of men and women. The first study found that men are more likely to go online for larger purchases. The article suggests that men are bigger online shoppers than women, but the details show they're really talking about more expensive items. Meanwhile, the article about the other study suggests that it's actually young women who are doing the online shopping. However, again, when you look at the details, they're really talking about who's shopping at cosmetics sites, jewelry sites, and clothing sites, to which I think most people would respond with a big "well, duh!" Basically, the two studies show that most people seem to shop the same way offline as they do online.

Input Drives Microsoft Office OneNote
2003 Service Pack 1
04/20/2004 11:26 PM
In an academic setting, a score of 90 percent earns an automatic "A". By that measure, the team shaping Microsoft Office OneNote 2003 merits a similar high passing grade. When the innovative application debuted last October, it reflected the pioneering edge of the digital note-taking category. Today, Microsoft honed that edge by announcing the preview release of Microsoft Office OneNote 2003 Service Pack 1 (OneNote SP1). Ninety percent of the features included in the software update are a direct result of customer input and feedback -- with the remaining 10 percent coming from indirect customer feedback.

Today a million companies will tell you how great a job they will do designing your website. They'll tell you they'll make it look professional.  Your site will use the most advanced web services available today.  They might use java or flash, or some other technology that sounds very technical. They might even build a shopping cart for you. Another million companies will tell you how great a job they will do hosting your website. They'll tell you they have great features.  Your hosting account will support the most advanced technologies used today.  They might support the java or flash, or other technologies used to develop your website.  They might even provide a shopping cart with the hosting. So what does a business owner really need to look for when choosing a company(s) to get started doing business online?
