Apple's Power Mac G4 Cube may have been discontinued a while back, but the computer still has its fans. With that in mind, PowerLogix announced a follow-up to its limited-run PowerCube: the ClearCube, an acrylic enclosure that improves on the original Cube box with better airflow so that you can upgrade your CPU and video card without worrying about heat problems.

WiebeTech LLC on Tuesday introduced the DuoGB800, a new external hard disk enclosure that mounts two drive mechanisms inside a single enclosure. Unlike the original DuoGB, which supported FireWire 400 only, this model is equipped with dual FireWire 800 (downwardly compatible with FireWire 400) and USB 2.0 interfaces. WiebeTech offers a do-it-yourself model without any drives for US$179.95 or pre-configured 240GB - 500GB versions ranging from $329.95 to $619.95 depending on capacity. WiebeTech will begin shipping the new drive on May 27, 2004.

PowerLogix and Other World Computing (OWC) today announced the PowerForce 750GX G3 processor upgrade for original PCI-based Apple Power Macintosh computers. It is immediately available for $239.99 and is the fastest upgrade option ever produced for legacy PCI Power Mac models. It operates at 1GHz and includes 1.0 MB of L2 cache, also running at 1GHz. The PowerForce 750GX utilizes the 20x bus multiplier of the IBM PowerPC 750GX processor to allow older PCI-based Power Macs to reach 1GHz speeds.
