Zend: Your First Steps in XSL

Zend: Your First Steps in XSL 03/12/2003 08:18 AM
All of the acronyms out there are getting confusing - things like XML, XSL, CSS, and HTML all start blurring together, and not only in the acronym sense. The lines between web technologies is becoming thinner and thinner as more and more people are adopting things on their sites, making it easier to update and easier to design. Using a CSS/XML/XSL mix, one can, these days, make a site that can be updated globally in a matter of seconds, and this new piece from Zend just might help.

Symantec Steps Up

Symantec Steps Up 05/27/2004 10:48 AM
Symantec Corp., in what can only be viewed as a welcome and generous act, has made their DeepSight Analyzer service available for free to the general public. This service has previously only been available to enterprise-level companies willing to shell out the money necessary. The DeepSight service does several important things- it gives you day-by-day sutomated reports of your system activity, access to the Analyzer Console online, and you can use it to generate summary reports of that activity. Now,why is that important? Because, in the even t of an attack and infection by an unknown virus or worm, that summary of activity can help you pinpoint in very short order the fact that your system?s strange behavior isn?t a figment of your imagination. That?s the first step in finding out what?s going on and how to stop it. It can isolate the strange actions so that you can figure out how to stop it.This would have been a huge plus to me during the recent attack on my system. I might have been able to isolate the problem days sooner. So get busy and get yourself set up with the DeepSight Analyzer as soon as possible! It?s one more piece of protection and you can seldom have too much protection.Keep in mind that this is NOT an anti-virus program. It simply provides a tool that can give you an edge if you should ever have to deal with an infection. As such, it doesn?t conflict with already installed anti-virus software. It certainly can be a life-saver, nonetheless.
