house (with lots and lots of amenities), clearly something that
appeals to high income people. The good thing is that it will
make it possible for us to get rid of our mortgage. This is
particularly great since interest rates are about to go
through the roof (which will tank the market for the next 5
years). The bad thing is that upper incomes growing at a 15%-20%
annual rate (which is paralleled by income stagnation for everyone
else). This means that a house like this will clearly be
worth several times what it is today in 10 to 15 years.
