rontpage Code Cleaner: Here's a handy service, though FrontPage
2003 is a lot better with code than its predecessors.
Our Frontpage Code Cleaner will read the page you specify,
and clean a lot of the un-needed code created by Microsoft Frontpage.
This helps to shrink the size of the actual page, which has many
benefits.
Just for fun, I fed Gadgetopia's front page into it, and it dropped
it from 70K (yikes) to 66KB.

FrontPage Add-ins in C#
08/02/2004 01:10 AMSimilar to macros but more powerful, add-ins allow you to extend the
built-in functionality of Microsoft Office FrontPage 2003. You can
create COM add-ins in Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0 or Microsoft Visual
C++ 6.0, or you can create managed add-ins in any of the languages
that use the Microsoft .NET Framework, such as Microsoft Visual Basic
.NET or Microsoft Visual C# .NET.
When you create managed add-ins for FrontPage2003, you can use the
tools, classes, and programming languages that are part of the
Microsoft .NET Framework. The MSDN article "Creating Managed FrontPage
Add-ins in C#" (see the Related Resources box on this page) shows you
how to create a managed add-in for FrontPage in C# and assumes a
general knowledge of the .NET Framework and a functional knowledge of
the C# programming language. The article also explains what you need
to know to create your own managed add-ins for FrontPage and provides
extensive resources for more information.

HyperEdit, an HTML and
PHP editor that splits its main window into two views, one for typing
code and one for displaying the results as the code is entered. The
application underlines any coding mistakes in red and uses the same
rendering engine found in Safari. Other features include a JavaScript
code evaluator, find and replace for regular expressions, a delay
timer that forces the page to wait before refreshing while you're
typing and more. It's a US$19.95 application that requires Mac OS X
v.10.2 and Safari 1.0 or higher. The unregistered version will run 10
times and then displays a registration reminder.

FrontPage: The Belly Of The Beast
FrontPage: The Belly Of The Beast
09/08/2004 02:10 PMFunny you should b
ring up Vermeer Technologies. While trying to beat a Visual Studio
web project into working yesterday, I did a little network sniffing to
find out what FrontPage and Visual Studio actually do to make things
work. I'd always thought it was WebDAV that made them go, but in fact,
VTI created their own protocol before WebDAV came on the scene. Read
on to find out more than you ever cared to know about FrontPage Server
Extensions (This entry is categorized as Total Geek — you've
been warned).
