MSN Music can be played on Pocket PC

MSN Music can be played on Pocket PC 09/04/2004 05:11 PM

I have a Pocket PC and I consider it the biggest waste of money I have ever spent for a gadget. So the news that you can play music on it that is purchased from MSN is encouraging. This is really no big deal as I have played music on it purchased from other sources for a long time. With only a 128 meg memory stick I don't really think it's worth the hassle though to me honest with you. [Engadget]

Signs you've played too much Tetris

Signs you've played too much Tetris 03/14/2005 04:24 PM

When I got home last night, I picked up my mail and opened the shirt I ordered from Threadless:

Tetris
tshirt

It took me all of two seconds to look at Scandinavia and determine that it was impossible to construct using conventional Tetris pieces. Unless some of the little blocks had been disappeared by clearing a row. And the dialogue in my head when I was thinking about all this was spoken in Professor Frink's voice from The Simpsons. Maybe I need to start reading on the subway rather than playing my GameBoy Advance so much.

What is CornHole? While it's true that cornholing has been bandied about Metafilter before, the president of the American Cornholing Association has never really had a chance to speak out. The official rules for Cornhole, the chance to become a card carrying member and the freedom to ask detailed questions on the Cornhole Forum are all now available via this wonderful thing called the Internet.

fundraising
03/06/2004 01:55 AM
The SCO Group Inc. said Thursday that Microsoft Corp. was not involved in raising venture capital funding for the company, dismissing claims that a leaked e-mail demonstrated that Microsoft had helped raise tens of millions of dollars for SCO. An e-mail from an outside consultant to SCO apparently involved in brokering deals for the company was posted to the Open Source Initiative Web site Wednesday. The consultant in the e-mail suggests that Microsoft "brought in $86 million" for SCO and that between US$16 million and $20 million is underway.

Susan Crawford did not have a good time at a Bach concert yesterday. I wouldn't mention it except she writes about it so amusingly. I'm reminded of a conversation my friend Joe Mahoney had with another friend of mine, Tim Anderson. According to Joe, who is an amazing musician, it went like this: Joe: Can you imagine? Bach had to write a cantata every week! Tim: Not only that. He had to write a Bach cantata. (Joe has a great post from November about the joy of growing up with a son and his son Quentin's manic performacne in "Cinderella."...
