The XPointer Framework is an extensible system for XML addressing and underlies additional schemes. The element() scheme allows basic addressing of XML elements, the xmlns() scheme is for interpreting namespace prefixes in pointers, and xpointer() scheme allows full XML addressing. @Last Software on Wednesday announced that it's shipping SketchUp 4.0, a new version of the company's 3D design software for Mac OS X and Windows. The software was released as a soft launch some weeks ago, but Wednesday marks the new version's official release, at Macworld Conference & Expo in Boston.

@Last Software is using their appearance at this week's SIGGRAPH 2004 trade show in Los Angeles, Calif. to show off SketchUp 4 Film & Stage, a new extension for their SketchUp 4 3D design software designed enable the software to work as a pre-visualization solution for art directors, filmmakers, cinematographers and others working in film and television.
