More interesting posturing about 802.11n today. The World Wide Spectrum Efficiency group got its name because it proposed to use regular 20 MHz channels while the other coalition proposed double-wide 40 Mhz channels. Today they've changed their strategy to use 40 MHz channels, but they didn't change the name. I sense the Big Lie pattern coming on.

The Architecture Strategy Series

The Architecture Strategy Series 03/08/2004 11:21 PM
These presentations describe the architectural vision that drives the "Longhorn wave" of technologies from Microsoft, and introduce a set of key initiatives that will form the pillars of the Longhorn solution architecture. Perspectives range from the metaphorical to the pragmatic. At one end, Pat Helland relates the evolution of technology architectures to the evolution of city planning (and showing us how far we have yet to go!). At the other, John Dawson presents the proven data center patterns developed by the Microsoft Systems Architecture team. Explore these presentations to discover how Microsoft views the road ahead, and what tools and technologies Microsoft plans to deliver to help you blaze your own trail to a more felicitous, better integrated enterprise application portfolio.

Flex raises it price

Flex raises it price 04/09/2005 09:17 AM

What's amazing is to watch Macromedia and their private blogging corps try to spin this one.

What software company raises it prices nowadays? says David Temkin.

Here's my theory:

- Macromedia has found a hit in Breeze. They now have an enterprise sales force out there doing onesies and twosies.

- Thye're building a suite of add-on modules - so watch out if you're Convoq, Userplane and anybody else who relies upon the FlashComn server.

- So where does Flex fit into this? Well I don't think Macromedia wants to be in the tools biz anymore - so they'lll raise the price, sell it through their direct sales force - ane once again - fuck their developers.

- this is what I think is going on

IMHO

Oh BTW - what's the story with this hidden backdoor in the flash player - that only Macromedia gets to use?
