German company RapidSolution Software has released the Windows software Tunebite. Music tracks purchased from the Internet are copy-protected and involve important restrictions for many users when they are played back. With the option to re-record them while they are played, Tunebite legally provides the user with new music files without restrictions. While many of the current crop of digital radios can record the audio being digitally broadcasted (either through an on-board interface or old-fashioned analog out), UBC's plan is to offer a push-button option to download a copy of the song being played free of DJ yammering and other station cruft.
