Designed for everyday use, as well as for amateur scientific work, CalcAssist is a multifunctional calculator with lots of great features. There are several new features added to this version, including the ability to save functions, faster drawn graphical graphs and functions, as well as many bug fixes. CalcAssist has lots of great functions that Apple's calculator doesn't have and it is great for use by anyone and not just professionals. The application has a great unit conversion window that has 13 types of measurements with several types of units listed for each type, making it easy to convert different lengths, densities, volumes and more (Apple's calculator converts 10 types of measurements). Apple's advanced view of its calculator has most of the same buttons as CalcAssist but CalcAssist also has a handy little interest calculator that allows the user to calculate simple or compound interest as well as create graphs from the calculations. CalcAssist allows users to calculate determinants of virtually any size, and can also be used as an analyser for common 3-dimensional objects, using Euclidian geometry. 2-D cartesian versions of functions can be drawn and graphs can be defined by custom points entered by the user. The help menu is handy and preferences such as calculation precision, automatic update checking, zoom coefficients, and automatically draw graphs are available for the user.
