Reading information from the iTunesDB file located on the iPod, Senuti allows the user to quickly transfer the music with ease using an interface that has the familiar look of Apple's iTunes. Whitney Young developed the application after purchasing a new computer. "I could have just ripped all of my CDs, but that would have taken too much effort, and I'm lazy," Young said. "I didn't want to have to pay for an application that I was planning on using once. I also didn't want to have to wait ten minutes for an application to read the contents of my iPod. Instead, I solved my problem of being lazy and not wanting to wait by doing a week's worth of research and a day of coding. Senuti, I called it, and here it is today." Senuti quickly retrieves information for the songs stored on an iPod to allow the user to search and sort. It lists the contents of the iPod, including all songs and individual playlists. Senuti can also play songs directly off of the iPod, acting as a jukebox player for the iPod. The application is very easy to use. To transfer a song to iTunes from the iPod, the user only needs to drag and drop. Senuti adds the songs right to iTunes so there is no need for dragging the songs twice. It can also add all of the songs in a playlist to iTunes while keeping the same playlist name and list. Senuti also has a Hide Songs In iTunes option, that will shows songs that are on the iPod but not in iTunes, making it useful for deciding which songs to transferred.
