Although case color doesn't mean things are going to be better at old Motion, we do hope they've learned a bit over the umpteen years they've held onto the same gimpy chassis.

Generally, this is a standard Motion tablet with hardware-protected encryption and fingerprint reader. This model costs about $1,899.

ASIMO is now capable of running at a speed of 3km/hour. In addition, walking speed has been increased from the previous 1.6 km/hour to 2.5 km/hour."

iGo EverywherePower 3500 Series

iGo EverywherePower 3500 Series 06/17/2005 05:52 PM
Mobility Electronics has come up with a great universal AC / DC adapter that powers and charges a variety of electronic devices utilizing interchangeable itips technology. This unique itip technology works with hundreds of brands and thousands of models of consumer electronic devices, even if they have different power requirements, with the switch of a tip. The patented technology automatically configures and regulates voltage and current, ensuring each device gets the right amount of power and eliminating the need for users to set the proper voltage on a multi-voltage charger. And the iGo EverywherePower 3500 Series works from any power source - a standard auto power outlet, an aircraft's in-flight power outlet or a standard wall power outlet. Spymac tested the unit with tips for Apple’s iPod and a Motorola cell phone. The charger worked extremely well with both units. The iGo EverywherePower 3500 Series comes with a slim, black zippered nylon case with inner mesh pockets for organizing all the components, the iGo adaptor, two power cords and whichever tips the user needs (each tip is sold separately). A nice complement to the 3500 Series is the included iGo DualPower accessory that allows the user to power/charge two portable electronic devices at the same time. The list price of the iGo EverywherePower 3500 Series is $69.99, while the iTips are priced at $9.99 each. Specifications: AC Input: 100 - 230 VAC DC Input: 11.75 - 30 VDC Power output: Up to 15 Watts Unit dimensions: .867L x 3.178W x 2.085H Unit Weight: 5 oz Cord Lengths: AC Input - 2.0’ DC Input - 2.0’ DC output - 4.0’ Pros: AC & DC powering/charging functionality itips compatible: eliminates the need for multiple adapters iGo DualPower accessory for simultaneous charging Over voltage, temperature & short circuit protection Compact & lightweight Status light – indicates unit is functioning properly 2-year product limited warranty Cons: Can become expensive if a large number of iTips is required If your company has a product you would like Spymac to review, please send an email to news@spymac.com.

avertec_c3500.jpg imageAnd while we're on the laptop tip, Averatec's new Tablet PC is coming out, the C3500 Convertible Notebook. It looks pretty hot for the price, too, with a decent speed AMD Athlon XP-M chip, 12.1-inch screen, and 802.11g for "as low as" $1,350 (although not sub-$1,000 quite yet). Except for the limitations convertible screens put on laptop form factors, there's no reason why all notebooks shouldn't be adding Tablet capabilities in the future for not much more money. Clearly, that's starting to happen. Plus, when you get angry at a Tablet PC you can punch the screen and watch it comically spin around until it breaks and you are fired. (Thanks, Kristian!)
