NcFTP Client 3.1.9 (Default branch)
04/07/2005 08:07 AM
NcFTP Client (also known as NcFTP) is a set of application programs
implementing the File Transfer Protocol (FTP). It offers many
ease-of-use and performance enhancements over the stock ftp client.
Changes:
The internal getline() and Duration() library functions were renamed
to gl_getline() and FTPDuration() to avoid namespace collisions with
glibc and Mac OS X libraries. Additional error response codes from
SITE UTIME are now recognized. If the server does not support setting
timestamps in MDTM, only one attempt is made. Control characters such
as NUL, CR, and LF are no longer allowed in FTP URLs to avoid command
injection. A problem where a timed-out transfer may have been detected
but still locked up the process was fixed. Small compatibility fixes
were made for Mac OS X, Solaris 10, and Linux.

Anatomic P2P 0.1 BETA (Client branch)
03/31/2005 09:17 AM
Anatomic P2P is an implementation of a protocol
designed to decentralize BitTorrent. It is based
on a network of "supertrackers" or "supernodes"
that users query and which route users to the
correct tracker(s). A modified tracker and client
are used, and "old" clients can still use the
network. The technology is based on the Gnutella
GWebCache system.

Yam 0.7.3 (Default branch)
Yam 0.7.3 (Default branch)
03/25/2005 07:06 AM
Yam builds a local APT/Yum RPM repository from
local ISO files, downloaded updates, and extra
packages from 3rd party repositories. It takes
care of setting up the ISO files, downloading the
RPMs, configuring HTTP access, and providing
PXE/TFTP resources for remote installations. It
was primarily intended for doing remote network
installations of various distributions from a
laptop without the need for CD media or floppies,
but is equally suitable for an organization's
centralized update server.
Changes:
This release adds IA64 support. The standard and error
output is now separated. There is an lftp include/exclude fix,
as well as a fix for ISO selection. There is also preliminary
SELinux support.
DBG 2.11.32 (Default branch)
DBG 2.11.32 (Default branch)
02/01/2005 09:44 PM

DBG is a PHP debugger and profiler. It makes it much easier to
discover the origins of problems and bugs in PHP scripts. It's
equipped with the ability to backtrace errors. It shows local and
global variables as well as parameters which have been passed to all
nested function calls at any point of execution. Among other things,
it allows you to execute scripts in a step-by-step manner, set
breakpoints (including conditional ones), evaluate expressions, and
watch variables. The profiler allows you to find bottlenecks in PHP
code at the functions level as well as the modules level and even the
source lines level.
Changes:
This release adds support for hardened PHP, and support for PHP 5.0.3,
5.0.2, 4.3.9, and 4.3.10. It adds three new commands to dbg-cli:
-list, -listen, and -output. It also fixes problems with the PCRE
library.

XC-AST 0.8.1 (Default branch)
XC-AST 0.8.1 (Default branch)
03/22/2005 03:52 PM

XC-AST analyzes data about call queues maintained
by an Asterisk PBX. After selecting one or more
queues, it provides information on agent logon and
logoff, taken calls, and lost calls in formatted
reports. It is designed to be used for monitoring
call centers that require real-time activity reports.
Changes:
This release features Caller*ID area analysis. It is now
possible to see the distribution of taken and lost calls by
area code (selectable in the number of digits). It is now
possible to set the default start hour, end hour, and time
period in the configuration file. The default analysis takes
data from 8 to 18 during the last 7 days.
R 2.1.0 (Default branch)
R 2.1.0 (Default branch)
04/18/2005 12:51 PM

R is a language and environment for statistical computing and
graphics. It is similar to S, which was developed at Bell Laboratories
by John Chambers et al. It provides a wide variety of statistical and
graphical techniques (linear and nonlinear modelling, statistical
tests, time series analysis, classification, clustering, etc.). R is
designed as a true computer language with control-flow constructions
for iteration and alternation, and it allows users to add additional
functionality by defining new functions. For computationally intensive
tasks, Fortran and C code can be linked and called at run time.
Changes:
The most important changes are probably support
for UTF-8 encodings and internationalization,
including (partial) translations of menus,
warnings, and error messages to Chinese, German,
Italian, Japanese, Portugese, and Russian.

This is the first announcement and the third
release in the 2.6 series of GTK+. This series
brings various enhancements. This release fixes
several bugs.

T2 2.1.0-rc1 (Default branch)
T2 2.1.0-rc1 (Default branch)
06/22/2005 02:28 AM
T2 is a system development environment. It
provides a self-contained distribution build kit
based on sources with an up-to-date tool and
development toolchain (gcc, glibc, uclibc, dietlibc, X.org, KDE,
GNOME, etc.). Its basis is an automatic build system that makes it
possible to either update a running
system or create a binary distribution that can later be deployed via
network or physical media. The system
is extremely versatile and makes it possible to
create sets of programs for different kinds of
systems, from routers to desktops, including
different architectures and platforms.
License: GNU General Public License (GPL)
Changes:
About 152 packages were updated, including Linux
2.4.31 and Linux 2.6.11.10. 146 issues were fixed.
The release includes enhanced Java support,
including Kaffee and Jikes. Automatic dependency
and installed files detection was improved. Other
package updates include Subversion (1.2.0), nvidia
(1.0-7174), and Apache (2.0.54). Acroread (7.0)
was added.

Dublin as Wireless Silicon Valley
Dublin as Wireless Silicon Valley
12/19/2004 03:18 PM I'm definitely feeling that my impending move to Dublin will put me
in the right place at the right time: Government and corporate leaders
in Dublin are hoping to establish Dublin as a center for the wireless
industry where companies form a community that develops and furthers
wireless technology. Some big companies that already have offices in
Dublin or Ireland are backing the idea, including Intel, Lucent, O2,
Esat BT and Bell Labs Ireland. It's hard to know if this initiative is
merely wishful thinking on the part of city leaders hoping to spur an
increase in business, but there's no doubt that there's still a lot of
high-tech work being done in Dublin as well as some cutting edge
wireless development. A bit of a boost from the government and some
marketing could just spur it along even further....
