Noreve Leather Case for PSP

Noreve Leather Case for PSP

Noreve Leather Case for PSP 04/12/2005 07:44 AM

noreve_psp.jpgNoreve is releasing one of their leather cases for the Sony PSP and it looks quite nice. The tri-fold cover has a velvet-lined inside, with pockets for a single UMD disc and two MemoryStick Duo. It's designed to allow you to play while leaving the cover on, but it does look like it could get a little 'flappy.' It should be available in about a week for €45.90.

Am I the only one that looks at these images and wonders how much the photographers' assistants must hate the PSP and its fingerprint-prone screen?

Vaja Leather PSP Case

Vaja Leather PSP Case 06/22/2005 01:58 AM

hri_05.JPGWhen it comes to cases, you have a number of equations to consider. First and foremost there is the ratio of usefulness to fashion. Plotted on an X/Y graph, we can place many cases into one of four quadrants. While a burlap sack would score high on the usefulness scale, it would score poorly on the fashion, thereby placing it in the "Crappy but Cheap" quadrant. A skinned sewer rat, still slightly fresh, would score poorly on both scales and would end up in the "Wha?" quadrant. I would place this leather PSP high on fashion and low on usefulness, depending on your personal sense of style. Let's call it the "Lindsay Lohan" quadrant.

The Vaja case aka the Console Suit, is an applied leather hard case that conforms perfectly to the PSP. The resulting amalgamation of dead cow and portable electronics costs $180 and allows the well-dressed fan of 1.5 firmware to match their shoulder bag, shoes, and game gear.

Vaja iVod Mini Leather Case 06/21/2004 10:31 AM

ivod2s.jpg imageHave an iPod mini? Like leather? On your iPod mini, I mean, you perv? Whining Dog reviews the Vaja iVod Mini case and I have to say, really, it looks pretty ugly to me -- it makes the cute iPod mini look like a thrift store couch, I'm saying -- but if leather's your thing, daddy, then don't let me stop you.

Leather Vaja HA42 Case for Treo 600 06/10/2004 09:52 AM

treo1s_vaja.jpg imageIs it just me, or does this Vaja HA42 case sort of make the Treo 600 look like Batman? For $55, the leather custom casing is not a bad way of keeping your smartphone in crime fighting shape. And like the Dark Knight himself, it has ample secret compartments for storing all your special gear (as long as that gear is a couple of SD cards and some money). Whining Dog (once a mild-mannered product reviewer until a tragic intersection between a tanker full of toxic sludge and Bestiality Anonymous meeting) has the review.

iPod mini Ostrich Leather Case

iPod mini Ostrich Leather Case 03/19/2005 02:45 AM

ostrich_ipod_mini.jpgWe know it's a plight iPod and iPod mini owners alike suffer from: what exotic or psuedo-exotic animal flesh or furs can we adorn our sacred pods with? Well, we're nothing if not keen to further the awareness of such products as the Piel Frama Ostrich Leather Case for your iPod mini. The "luxurious and unusual ostrich leather case" is $95 but currently out of stock at iPodWorld. Rest assured, when they find another pack (gaggle?) of half-buried birds, they'll be selling in no time. It comes with a removable belt clip and has room for two credit cards, for when you find a more interesting beast to blanket your mini in.

Shoe leather for the Gov 01/03/2004 05:53 PM
It should rain when you canvass for a candidate. Not a downpour but enough of a drizzle that your hair is plastered to your head and your shirt never gets quite dry. And it should be cold. Glove cold. And the first person you meet should definitely not agree with you. Easy virtue isn't worth it. (Accidentally leaving your umbrella, hat, cell phone and lunch at the local campaign headquarters is purely optional, however. Sigh.) I'm home and dry now. My shoes are off and my feet are up. Moo Cow Case Mod 08/23/2004 08:53 AM

moocowmoo0021.jpg imageI don't know what's worse: the fact that someone turned a plastic cow into a computer or that there are Wal-Marts in Germany. Either way, walking through the parking lot of German Wal-Mart, carrying around a plastic cow while "having all these German people go Moo or say something that I did not quite understand," sounds extraordinarily surreal - certainly enough to send any sane man into a bovine case mod frenzy.

What is the case against CASE

What is the case against CASE 03/13/2003 10:23 AM
My company is gearing up to begin design and development of an information system. Many of the people here are enamoured with "CASE" tools -- Oracle Designer in particular instance, but it might as well be any of a dozen others such as Rational Rose, etc... Obviously, open source projects produce lots of software, yet seem to shun CASE tools. I can't really think of any reason why CASE and open source are incompatible. So what is the technical case against CASE tools?

We Need a Test Case Soon

We Need a Test Case Soon 12/12/2003 10:20 AM
Free music at LegalTorrents

"LegalTorrents is a new site offering 5Gb of electronic music from a variety of labels, all licensed under Creative Commons. What makes this site unique is the large downloads are shared among everyone downloading, thanks to the P2P technology of BitTorrent< /A>. Once you download a client and load up a music torrent file, you'll be downloading the file from everyone that has downloaded the file, and as you gather data others will be downloading from you. It's an incredible technology meant to share large file downloads like these music archives and things such as linux distributions. The technology also has a checkered past due to its use for sharing illegal files, hence the name of the site, LegalTorrents." [Creative Commons: weblog]

Hmmm... so could a subset of these files (or a similar one) be a starter collection of MP3 music files for a library to use to test and offer downloads directly from an online catalog? We have to start somewhere and figure out how best to integrate this type of service before our patrons begin demanding it.
