Midgard Components Framework 2.3.1
(Development branch)
04/04/2005 12:46 PM

The Midgard Components Framework (also called
MidCOM) is an advanced component architecture
which extends the Midgard Web content management framework. It
provides mechanisms for building a Web site using components without
much need for writing code to glue all this together. The
administration site gets built automatically by using those
components. Goodies like a caching engine and subrequests make site
building even easier.
Changes:
The sessioning subsystem cooperates with Nemein Authentication. A
"Live Mode" in the caching engine allows for continuously updated
status pages (f.x. during a bulk upload). Iconv is now used centrally
through the i18n service. The number type has a new, improved storage
handler using its own code to work around decimal separator locale
differences (PHP behaves a bit oddly here).

Submission by Henri Bergius
Helsinki, May 5th 2004 -- The Midgard Open Source Community celebrates
the
5th anniversary of the Content Management Framework project. Midgard
1.0.0
was launched in May 8th 1999 by Jukka Zitting and Henri Bergius.
There will be a Midgard developer meeting in Poznan, Poland on May 8th
2004 to celebrate the anniversary. However, as the members of the
Midgard Project are spread internationally it is impossible for many
to participate. Instead, everybody can raise a beer glass on Saturday
for Midgard and the community that made it possible.A special "5th
anniversary" shirt is available in the Midgard CafePress store, thanks
to Tony Lee.The original Midgard 1.x code base is starting to show
age, and the developer meeting will host debate on the future
strategy, code named Ragnaroek. People unable to participate are
welcomed to join the discussions on the developer mailing list and
Midgard IRC channel.
About MidgardMidgard is an Open Source Content Management System
integrating world's most popular Open Source web development tools —
MySQL, Apache and PHP — providing an environment for deploying

it uploads the compressed image of a local hard disk to an FTP server,
and then it can retrieve that image via FTP, uncompress it, and write
it back to disk. Network configuration is fetched via DHCP. As the
hard disk is processed as an image, any filesystem and operating
system can be deployed using g4u. Easy cloning of local disks as well
as partitions is also supported.

DBG 2.11.32 (Default branch)
DBG 2.11.32 (Default branch)
02/01/2005 09:44 PM

DBG is a PHP debugger and profiler. It makes it much easier to
discover the origins of problems and bugs in PHP scripts. It's
equipped with the ability to backtrace errors. It shows local and
global variables as well as parameters which have been passed to all
nested function calls at any point of execution. Among other things,
it allows you to execute scripts in a step-by-step manner, set
breakpoints (including conditional ones), evaluate expressions, and
watch variables. The profiler allows you to find bottlenecks in PHP
code at the functions level as well as the modules level and even the
source lines level.
Changes:
This release adds support for hardened PHP, and support for PHP 5.0.3,
5.0.2, 4.3.9, and 4.3.10. It adds three new commands to dbg-cli:

library.
otl 0.26 (Default branch)
otl 0.26 (Default branch)
04/08/2005 04:27 AM
otl is a Perl application that is a glorified
search and replace engine. The process is
customizable; the application can be used to
generate markup such as HTML, XML, etc. from a
text file with the user able to customize the
process to a substantial extent. While the program
is designed to be used to process outlines (e.g.
lecture notes, etc.) and generate nice HTML, it
could be used in other contexts, as well by just
defining a new set of rules for the substitution
process.
Changes:
In this version, nested lists are processed better, and there
is improved documentation in the HOWTO . A GNU autoconf
automake framework was added so install is more of a no-
brainer, a --pfile flag is now used to indicate a parameter
file, filename globbing is now dealt with, the parameter file
was modified so it specifies the file suffix to tag on output
file, diagnostic information that is written to stdout has been
trimmed, the project now checks to see if the file is already
present before overwriting, and a second script, "tag-
remove", was added.
PAS 3.4 (Default branch)
PAS 3.4 (Default branch)
03/31/2005 12:28 PM

using databases. It breaks down Web applications
into small XML and PHP files. It features code
reuse, packaging, forms, reporting, a registry,
database abstraction, an event controller, and
logs, and applies the M.V.C. pattern (separate
business logic and frontend GUI). It makes a good
foundation for a rapid application development
system. Its independent XML components can easily
be integrated into IDEs and GUI tools.
Changes:
This new release includes a lot of bugfixes, PHP5
compatibility, and multilanguage support.
