Epson's World's Lightest Flyer Still
Smallest, Awesome
08/19/2004 07:35 AM

040818_m.jpg imageSee, I saw that Epson had released a new model of their "World's Lightest Micro-Flying Robot" - you know, the one that was a big deal late last year - and thought, "We've already talked about that. Nobody will be interested." I was wrong, according to the emails, though, so I guess I better mention it. The biggest difference between the old model and the new one is that the update appears to be running untethered, although it still flies with a bit of a wobble. It's too small to be used outside, but I wouldn't be surprised to see some implementation of these available for purchase soon. Although they have serious uses, too - investigating accident scenes, etc. - with the Bluetooth and built-in camera, it would make a perfect office toy, until you were fired for industrial espionage.

Also, could the girl in the video be any less excited?

Dell Releases Its Lightest Laptop Ever

Dell Releases Its Lightest Laptop Ever 03/31/2005 12:35 PM
Dell updated its lineup of business notebooks today with a 2.5-pound laptop designed for executives who want to make last-minute changes to presentations while airborne. The Latitude X1 was designed with business travelers in mind, from its reinforced casing (which wards off shifting airline baggage in the overhead compartment) to a sealed keyboard that limits the damage caused by coffee spills. Dell reduced the size of this model's power adapter and battery to reduce the system weight to 2.5 pounds, making this system the lightest laptop in the company's arsenal.

Photoshop Quick Tip #1: Use Threshold to
find the darkest and lightest areas
08/19/2004 01:53 AM
Today, I add a new element to the Graphics Tips Section. Previously, I have concentrated on epic tutorials and grand Photoshop recipes. These have been wildly successful and a ton of fun to put together, but they take a lot of time to develop and I wanted you all to have more Photoshop goodness to read on a more regular basis.

And so the Photoshop Quick Tip is born! This time around I'll show you how to use Threshold to find an image's darkest and lightest areas. It may not be as big as the Matrix Code Tutorial, but it might just be a building block for something much bigger.
