DocBook Wiki 0.7.1 (Default branch)

DocBook Wiki 0.7.1 (Default branch) 03/31/2005 07:22 AM

DocBookWiki can display and edit DocBook documents online. It can display several documents at once (a list of books), and each of them can be in several languages. Editing can be done in several modes (like text, HTML, XML, etc.), but the basic format is always DocBook (XML). Each document can be converted automatically into other formats for downloading. All the history of modifications is kept in CVS, and any previous versions of a document can be recovered.

Changes:
This release included some improvments and bugfixes. This included documentation for users, administrators, and developers, generation of downloadable files, and an installation system.

It's the Wiki Wiki thing

It's the Wiki Wiki thing 02/01/2005 09:19 PM

What happens when you 1) were thinking about stupid songs that you can't get out of your head, 2) are listening to the audio of Jimmy Wales talking about Wikipedia in Boston (audio and text transcripts here), 3) are chatting to wikipedians on IRC and 4) happen to have Garage Band open? This (800K mp3 / 870K ogg).

PS I would like to add that many wikipedians contributed links, sounds and feedback in the creation of this piece. It's amazing what you can do as a community. ;-P Just kidding, I can not take credit for the entire work, but I have no one to blame but myself.

UPDATE: Eric Haller just cleaned it up for me and now it sounds much better. 963K mp3

Wi.Ser 0.6.9 (Default branch)

Wi.Ser 0.6.9 (Default branch) 04/05/2005 05:35 PM
Screenshot Wi.Ser is a Java/XML server-side GUI-framework which enables an application to run as either a monolithic Swing app, a client/server Swing app, or as a Web app without any change. It includes a mixed deployment mode, which supports one server to serve Swing clients and Web clients at the same time. The framework uses XML to define an application's GUI. It provides a common widget-based, object-oriented programming interface for Web and Swing GUIs, which prevents the developer from struggling with HTML and HTTP or with the internals of Swing. For Swing client/server applications the client/server split as well as the client/server communication is handled transparently by the framework. The project includes a GUI builder that is based on the framework's functionality (screenshot, deployed as a Web/HTML application).
Changes:
This release includes a template pool to speed up HTML rendering. A CSS class can be set for all Web Widgets. A bug in the color settings method of forms has been fixed. New tags for additional widget properties are available within the GUI builder. A fix in the listBox HTML template for Mozilla is included, and the GPL version comes with a build.xml to integrate into the full distribution again.

The program is now mainly licensed under the GPL (some parts use the mBSD and zlib license).
