Hilton Hotels are rolling out new radio alarm clocks to their rooms, complete with a line-in jack for plugging in your MP3 player. In addition, the new units are supposed to be a lot easier to set yourself, and can wake you up with the sound of one of four pre-set radio stations instead of the jarring clang of the hotel wake-up call (although, I sort of like that, especially when the friendly robot calls).

Of course, it'd be cooler if the clock could wake you up with your music, but that would probably morph into 'iPod only.' Line-in is the future!

Hilton Hotels has announced that they will provide "emergency" cell phone chargers to its guests. Available in the "Pavilion Pantry" of the Hilton Garden Inn chain, guests will be able to buy a PowerMobile universal cell phone battery charger if they find they've forgotten theirs at home. I'd prefer the option to simply have a deposit charged to my room and return the charger when I'm done with my stay, instead of accruing a new universal phone charger for every trip I take, but that's just me.

San Diego, Calif.-based Mad Catz Interactive Inc. -- a company best known for making accessories for video game consoles -- announced Wednesday "accessory starter kits" aimed at Apple's iPod and iPod mini. Kits include a FireWire/USB data and recharger cable, a car power adapter and a carrying case. The kits for iPod will work with new fourth generation iPods as well as third generation devices, and will be available in black. iPod mini kits will be available in silver, gold, blue, green and pink. The kits will cost "between US$29.99 and $49.99" when they debut this fall in North America and Europe. The company's Web site had not been updated with information about the new products as MacCentral posted this article.

It's compatible with Macs and PCs. The PMP-100 sports a USB 2.0 interface, a line-in jack, TV-out port, built-in speakers, FM tuner and integrated voice recorder. It also comes with a rechargeable and replaceable Lithium-Ion battery. The PMP-100 measures 5.47 x 3.31 x 1.25 inches (139 x 85 x 31.7 mm) and weighs 9.88 ounces (280 g). The PMP-100 costs US$499.99 for the 20GB model and $599.99 for the 40GB model. The Web site had not been updated with information about the PMP-100 as MacCentral posted this article.
