Still, this one figure was all that was needed, since the dude didn’t do much in the Classic Trilogy other than be dead and smile a lot…Thankfully, today’s addition to the Vintage Photo Archive fearlessly brought both of those character traits across very well.

Today's Photo Archives update features one outfit from each film: the X-Wing Pilot gear, the Bespin Gear, and the outfit of the Jedi Knight. All have been released before, but they have been brought back in special packaging and spiffy new paint applications.

This amalgam of two other mini-busts makes for one of the most spectacular items in an already impressive line, capturing every detail and creating an accurate representation of Luke's appearance in A New Hope. Though, when compared to the modern line the casual observer may not notice it, but the vintage Luke Skywalker (Hoth Battle Gear) was a giant leap forward for Kenner. The figure sported not only the first vintage equivalent of an action pose; it was sculpted with more detail than any figure before it. Oddly enough, despite the fact that he used one whilst wearing this costume in the film, today’s addition to the Vintage Photo Archive didn't come with his father's Lightsaber. Likely Kenner didn't want to make the perfect Luke before Return Of The Jedi came out...

The Luke Skywalker (Imperial Stormtrooper Outfit) action figure is the only Power Of The Force figure based on costume or situation that wasn’t in Return Of The Jedi. Granted, one could argue the Han Solo (In Carbonite Chamber) could also fit into that category, but it wasn’t entirely based exclusively on the events of the other two films, so it loses out by default; making today’s addition to the Vintage Photo Archive stand alone in the crowd.

The Jedi High Council continues its session in our Photo Archives today. Continuing the scene from last year's releases, this set features Plo Koon, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Eeth Koth from The Phantom Menace, the fourth interlocking base and the second of the center floor pieces. While Obi-Wan is the same figure from his Power of the Jedi release, both Plo Koon (based on the Saga version) and Eeth Koth (pretty much a new figure with the POTJ head, although really this figure should be Agen Kolar) have undergone significant changes.

The Jedi High Council is in session in our Photo Archives today. Continuing the scene from last year's releases, this set features Yoda, Qui-Gon Jinn, and Ki-Adi-Mundi from The Phantom Menace, the third interlocking base and the first of the center floor pieces. Each figure has undergone some tweaking from its previous releases...just take a peek to see what Ki-Adi-Mundi is packing underneath his skirt.

After nearly three months, our Power of the Force 2 Photo Archives series of updates wraps up with the Final Jedi Duel, arguably the most emotional lightsaber battle in a Star Wars film...so far, anyway. Take away all the scoundrels, droids, aliens, bounty hunters, space battles, and explosions, and what do you have? A story about the relationship between a son and his father. What better day to end the series than today. My father took me to see my first showing of Star Wars in 1977, and it has been a part of my life ever since. Now I'm off to spend the day with my own children. Happy Father's Day!

When the Empire strikes back, it doesn't hold back. Today's Power of the Force 2 Photo Archives update focuses on General Veers' Blizzard Force assault squad. None can stand against the mighty Imperial AT-AT Walker, skillfully piloted by the AT-AT Driver team of highly-trained troops. Running Assisting the strike force is the Imperial AT-ST, or Scout Walker, which can cover more ground in half the time. Locating the rebel scum can be tricky, however, so a deluxe Probe Droid is sent out to the farthest reaches of the galaxy, providing long-range scanning.

Today we are launching a new feature here at Rebelscum. Anne Neumann has been hard at work preparing for the launch of our Jedi Archives Star Wars collectible database for several months. It has more than 30,000 entries in it already, but we all know there are many more than this to be cataloged. It's not something we can or expect to do ourselves. She will be actively looking for help from you readers to populate and audit the entries such that the data is the very best source available in time. To make room for this link we have moved a few of the quick picks around up top and have added a Jedi Archives link. Soon after you read this we will open up a new forum topic where Anne will moderate discussion of the new Archive. I'd like to wrap up with thanks to Anne.
