Development branch)
Linux-VServer 1.9.5 (Linux 2.6
Development branch)
03/24/2005 05:25 AM
Linux-VServer allows you to create virtual private
servers and security contexts which operate like a
normal Linux server, but allow many independent
servers to be run simultaneously in one box at
full speed. All services, such as ssh, mail, Web,
and databases, can be started on such a VPS,
without modification, just like on any real
server. Each virtual server has its own user
account database and root password and doesn't
interfere with other virtual servers.
Changes:
A small bug in IPv6 hiding was fixed, a memory
leak in an error path was removed, and a
mysterious double allocation issue in x25 was
fixed. iunlink and barrier update for XFS as well
as the proc/mounts virtualization were corrected.
A new claim/release scheme replaces the double
refcounting. Legacy support was separated, and a
bunch of new limits/accountings were added
(anon_rss, locks, shm, forks). A new ccap that
protects network mounts was added. Compile time
information was added to the proc info.

Ghost Diagrams 0.7 (Default branch)
02/05/2005 09:32 PM

Ghost Diagrams is a small program that takes sets of tiles and tries
to find patterns into which they may be formed. The patterns it finds
when given randomly chosen tiles are often surprising, and frequently
resemble floral decorations.
Changes:
This release can use either a square or a hexagonal underlying grid.
There is now a smarter assembly algorithm which will not make same
mistake twice. The assembly process has been animated.
Openwall Linux kernel patch 2.4.30-ow1
(Linux 2.4 branch)
Openwall Linux kernel patch 2.4.30-ow1
(Linux 2.4 branch)
04/08/2005 10:32 AM
The Openwall Linux kernel patch is a collection of security
"hardening" features for the Linux kernel. In addition to the new
features, some versions of the patch contain various security fixes.
The "hardening" features of the patch, while not a complete method of
protection, provide an extra layer of security against the easier ways
to exploit certain classes of vulnerabilities and/or reduce the impact
of those vulnerabilities. The patch can also add a little bit more
privacy to the system by restricting access to parts of /proc so that
users may not see what others are doing.
Changes:
This release was updated to Linux 2.4.30.

Kernel Mode Linux 2.4.31_001 (For Linux
2.4 branch)
06/05/2005 11:23 PM
Kernel Mode Linux is a technology which enables
the execution of user programs in a kernel mode.
In Kernel Mode Linux, user programs can access
kernel address space directly. Unlike kernel
modules, user programs are executed as ordinary
processes (except for their privilege level), so
scheduling and paging are performed as usual.
Although it seems dangerous, the safety of the
kernel can be ensured through such methods as
static type checking, software fault isolation,
and so forth.

MOSIX Cluster Management 1.13.1 for
Linux 2.4.30 (Linux 2.4 branch)
04/07/2005 10:26 AMMOSIX is a management system that allows a cluster
of x86 nodes to perform like a parallel computer.
It is particularly suitable to run intensive
computing and massive I/O applications. In a MOSIX
system there is no need to modify applications,
link them with any library, or even assign
processes to different nodes. It is done
automatically, just "fork and forget", like in an
SMP system. MOSIX is geared toward improved
performance, overhead-free scalability and
ease-of-use.

gives byte offset of the UTF-8 character with a
given index. inc() and dec() APIs were added to
FXString to advance byte offset to the next or
previous UTF-8 character. A couple of FXString
APIs that were duplicated were dropped. Many APIs
were added to FXString which take wide and narrow
characters, particularly constructors, assign(),
append(), prepend(), insert(), replace(), and
assignment operators. FXwchar is now typedef-ed to
wchar_t when wchar_t is 32-bits. On machines where
wchar_t is 16-bits, FXnchar is typedef-ed as
wchar_t.

dialog, and the folderview were reimplemented
using GtkTreeView. Auto-scroll on DnD was
implemented. GBK encoding is supported. The broken
PLAIN authentication for SMTP AUTH was fixed. A
workaround was made for some SMTP servers which
terminate the connection right after a QUIT
command is sent. Clear-signed messages are not
MIME-encoded anymore. The line-wrapping of the
composition window was modified not to screw up
itemized lines.

RPL/2 (Reverse Polish Lisp/2) is a langage derived from the RPL made
by Hewlett-Packard for its HP-28S. It has some extensions
(preprocessor, compilated libraries, new functions), a TeX output, and
can draw graphics.
Changes:
DUMP has been rewritten to be portable. It works, but without shared
libraries, a printer file, graphic files, or "last error". Support for
these kinds of objects will be available as soon as possible. DUMP
cannot be used in multiprocessing. The Configure.in script has been
modified to return an error when g77 is not found. A new internal type
is now used to handle shared libraries. A major bug has been fixed in
recherche_type(); it only occurred in interactive mode ([[ 1 ]]
returned
a syntax error). A major bug has been found in simplification_arbre();
the subroutine is now disabled.
