04/16/2004 09:06 AMJOEL JOHNSON -- Looks like the fabled Motorola MPx 220 is about to be
announced, as references keep appearing, then disappearing, from
Motorola's site. Mobile9 has a Babelfish-translated article that
reveals that the unit has "already fried about its news year ago
noisily," and you can't really get more detailed...

Deep Blue - Kasparov Archive
Deep Blue - Kasparov Archive
07/17/2004 10:44 PMIBM Research | Deep Blue
| Overview: IBM has preserved a Web site devoted to the 1997 match
between Garry
Kasparov and Deep
Blue.
In May 1997, IBM's Deep Blue Supercomputer played a
fascinating match with the reigning World Chess Champion, Garry
Kasparov. The event was captured live only on this Web site, where
millions of chess and computing fans tuned in to witness the event in
real-time. This Web site is an archive of that event, and information
on this site has not been updated since the end of the
match.
However, I think the best thing ever written about Deep Blue was an
Onion article that reported
that Deep Blue had been beaten up by a cooler computer — a Sun
workstation, I think. I would link, but it's behind a subscription
wall.
