Harris & Baseview on Wednesday announced that it's now shipping iQue Server 4.0, a major upgrade to the developer's editorial development system. The software employs a MySQL database running on a JBoss foundation, with a three-tiered structure that enables multiple servers to connect to the same database. As a result, iQue Server 4.0 can scale from a handful of seats to hundreds.

Harris & Baseview on Friday released IQue Server 4.0, an editorial solution that includes a MySQL database, a JBoss application server and a cross-platform NewsEditPro IQue client. This upgrade offers such new features as remote administration, publication profiles that use metadata, new zoning options, a control-and-release system that locks out other users while changes are being made, version histories complete with metadata changes and more. In addition, it uses EditionBuilder, which automatically creates page folios and turns multi-page documents into single files. Harris & Baseview did not note pricing nor system requirements.
