Schmo Stackable Lamps 05/03/2004 10:59 AM
I don't know exactly how these Schmo stackable lamps by Helen Kontouris work (do they transfer power through the tops of each unit? Do you have to run new wires?) but really, I don't care, because not only do I know I want them, I also know I can never...

Panasonic's PuffMuff Fur Lamps

Panasonic's PuffMuff Fur Lamps 06/01/2004 01:53 PM

puffmuff.jpgimageMatsushita Electric Works (known as Panasonic to we Westerners) has developed a artificial fur-covered lamp, dubbed the 'PuffMuff.' Available in both a ceiling lamp model (around $380) and a table lamp (around $130), the PuffMuffs are designed to output a soft, diffused light (like when you tape a hamster to a flashlight, let's say). Currently the lamps come in two patterns: an attractive white fur (pictured) or a too-tacky (instead of 'just tacky enough') cow spots design. This would be perfect for my den, where I display my prized merkin collection.

Tiny, USB Lava Lamp

Tiny, USB Lava Lamp 06/24/2005 04:01 PM

mini_lavalamp.jpgInside of all of us, there is a tiny, tie-dye-wearing Assembler demo coder waiting to shine. Don't let him out—he'll only make a couple of cool 65k demos before deciding what he really wants to be is a four-track MOD DJ, spreading the healing power that a danceable remix of the Airwolf theme provides.

Instead, keep him deep inside your brain, appeased by the random number generator of the random lovers generation, the Lava Lamp. This new model available on Thinkgeek is not only powered by USB, but is only ten bucks.

Lava Vader Details

Lava Vader Details 03/25/2005 12:46 PM
Here are a few details on Target's exclusive "Lava Vader" from "Metalzombie". I work for a Target DC, and on Sunday we had about four skid loads of the Target exclusive Darth Vader's roll in. My buddy and me popped a case open, and they look incredibly sweet. They come packaged in a clear plastic case, like the vintage OTC ones, with Star Wars: Revenge Of The Sith on the back. The bottom says Target Exclusive, with a red picture of Vader to the left, and the sticker across the top simply says "Darth Vader".

kerplah.jpg imageThere are so many music players flooding in from Asia it's hard to keep track of them all - especially the flash players - but there are occasional stand-outs, like the Mpeye TS-400, which if it weren't shot with such a happy, colorful background would remind me of some sort of Klingon device. Sizes up to 1GB will be available, as well as the almost de rigueur color screen.

Now if we could only sharpen this to be fit for battle. Kerplah!

Today's Photo Archives update is the first of several exclusives that were available at last weekend's debut of Revenge of the Sith toys. The Target exclusive Darth Vader (Lava Reflection) may be just a simple repaint of an older figure, but with the frenzy felt from Midnight Madness, fans flocked to their local stores to get their hands on this collectors edition. Even if he does remind me of Azrael, this just goes to show that Star Wars fans love Vader!

Ms . Wheelchair Wisconsin stripped of title for standing up. Candidates for the crown have to "mostly be seen in the public using their wheelchairs or scooters," said Judy Hoit, Ms. Wheelchair America's treasurer. "Otherwise you've got women who are in their wheelchairs all the time and they get offended if they see someone standing up. We can't have title holders out there walking when they're seen in the public." Reminds me of the joke of the kid who won the "Most Humble" award at his school, was given a badge, and then had it taken away from him when he put it on.
