It's available for 20-, 23- and 30-inch Apple Cinema Displays. MaxUpgrades also plans a model for the new iMac G5 which will be introduced in October. iMove costs US$149 to $189 depending on the size of the Cinema Display.

Michael says, "Here's another petition asking Apple to acknowledge a widespread manufacturing defect. This one concerns the problem with Apple's 17-inch Studio Displays that causes the top or bottom half to go dim, and the power light to blink incessantly. There is an ongoing thread on Apple's Discussion Board that currently has 371 replies, with 172 unique user names reporting the problem. It had 378 on Tuesday, but 8 of them, including one of mine, have since been deleted by Apple. I have spoken to Apple's Customer Relations regarding the issue, and they refuse to acknowledge it as a known problem. A flat-rate out-of-warranty repair is $458.95. A new display is $699." 23gz_xserve.jpg imageWhat would make Apple announce a upgraded Xserve G5 just a week before MacWorld? Could it be that they're so crammed full of new product announcements that they're actually pushing stuff out early? Wishful thinking, perhaps, and idle besides—this 2.3GHz Dual G5 rackmounted machine is a beaut. Why can't all my machines be rackmounted, huh? If I didn't play videogames, I could ditch these goofy square machines forever.

Slightly more plebian, though, is news that Apple has dropped the price of the Cinema Displays, starting with the 20-inch model for $1,000, up to the 30-inch for three large. (Thanks, Lawrence!)
