Cellphone Weight Watcher

Cellphone Weight Watcher 06/24/2005 04:02 PM

cell-phone-5.jpgThe Technical Research Centre in Finland has developed a technology to assist all of the health nuts in the world. It is a camera phone that scans barcodes at grocery stores and gives all of the nutritional information. This device also gives a purchase history and estimates how much exercise it will take to burn off calories contained. In this day and age, turning the package over and looking at the printed nutritional content is way too hard.

Roborior: Spooky Robot Pet Watcher

Roborior: Spooky Robot Pet Watcher 12/19/2004 03:41 PM
The Swirling Brain sent a spooky robot news alert in today. It seems that Tmsuk, the prolific Japanese robotics company that brought us the dragon robot Banryu, the gun-toting Tmsuk04, and other strange robots, has now come up with their weirdest robot yet. Roborior is a robot whose design was inspired by the appearance of a jellyfish but looks more like a glowing blue and red alien brain. The glowing brain moves around your house taking care of the pets (or more likely, making them hide) and looking out for intruders. This is one robot that doesn't need any weapons. If a burgler sees a glowing brain coming down a dark hall towards him, he's likely to die of fright. If it doesn't frighten intruders away by its appearance, it will call you on your cell phone and send you photos of your home being robbed. The bizarre robot was designed by Paul White of Me Company (whose angry bunny spewing eggs out of its head Flash website is almost as weird as Roborior). Tmsuk and Sanyo will be jointly marketing the Roborior robot.
