What is disturbing about the video is its subject—a couple making love in the back seat of a convertible—and not just because our 'brave men in uniform' are using multimillion dollar aircraft to play peeping Tom. No. They're spying. On what could possibly be US civilians, on US soil. Which is illegal.

According to a new Post-Gazette.com story, the Society of Automotive Engineers is adopting the military Joint Architecture for Unmanned Systems (JAUS) for use as a non-military robotics standard. JAUS has been under development by the military for five years as a set of standards and a reference architecture for the hardward of autonomous robots. The SAE Aerospace Council has established an unmanned systems standards committee to adapt JAUS as a civilian aerospace standard.
