07/15/2004 10:09 PM EBay flirts with digital music

San Jose, Calif.-based eBay said an unspecified number of
"preapproved" users could conduct digital music transactions in eBay's
new "Digital Downloads" category for the next 180 days. Executives
will then determine whether to formally enter the market.

12/17/2004 06:37 PMAlmost every Sunday I grab my latest week’s

entry is now the chart’s permanent home. I’ll update it most
weeks, probably...

browsers visiting
ongoing, but I’ll skip the
graphics this time because there’s no discernible movement. So
far in 2004, the averages are 53% IE, 32% Mozilla family, 12.5%
Safari, 2% Opera, they move up and down around that but not in any
persistent direction. Go figure.

The Google Browser
The Google Browser
08/27/2004 01:51 PMJason Kottke ponders whether Google
is developing a Mozilla-based browser. It's obvious Google is up
to something more than search, as illustrated by its recent
acquisition of Picasa. Kottke believes that Google is
building an operating system, and I share this belief when I think
about an OS that lives on the net rather than everyone's desktop.
Update: Steve Gillmor writes along
similar lines.

Google Browser?
09/20/2004 10:33 PM
NY Post (they're never wrong!) is speculating that Google will launch
a web browser based on the fact that they've hired a half-dozen key
hires in recent weeks.
GBrowser sounds like a pretty lame name. Maybe it will like this.
Maybe it will be Mozilla based. There's even Bug 226572 - Google
branded Mozilla browser with the last comment saying:
This is a duplicate of a private bug about working with Google. So
closing this
one.
*** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 213362 ***
If not Mozilla can always see how they market "GBrowser" to non-geeks
and copy that.
