Computer Virus.

When we see a headline about weapons of mass destruction, we immediately think of Islamic terrorists launching chemical, biological or nuclear weapons. But another type of weapon will become equally dangerous and much more available within the next decade: an artificially intelligent computer virus. Dan Ronco explores this emerging threat in PeaceMaker, his new scifi thriller, released August 1, 2004 by Winterwolf Publishing. Complimentary copies are available to qualified individuals. 1990 is Calling. It Wants its Games Back

1990 is Calling. It Wants its Games Back 04/15/2005 04:43 AM
In a "haven't they got anything better to do" case, New York FBI agents have seized a haul of more than 60,000 pirated games... for the Nintendo Entertainment System. Yes, that's right, the console of choice - for some - 25 years ago. The AP story refers to pirated copies of consoles themselves, but reads like it means the games.

Four people were arrested in the crackdown, trying to sell games like Donkey Kong, Super Mario Brothers, Duck Hunt and Baseball. Ah, the classics. Prosecutors say the defendants agreed to sell the games to FBI agents who were willing to distribute the games in Manhattan and the Midwest.

It's claimed the group had imported as many as 280,000 pirate versions in four months last year. Nintendo told the FBI that individuals and companies copy the video games and sell the pirated versions throughout the world, costing the company millions of dollars in lost revenue annually - despite the fact they don't make the machines (or, most likely, actually sell the games) any more. Could it be to do with the fact that some of the "classic" titles are getting a rebirth on new handheld machines? Surely not.

For sale on ebay:
'You never will again in this accurate recreation of the DeLorean Time Machine made famous in the Back to the Future movie series. This recreation was painstakingly researched for nearly 5 years before construction. Dozens of original photographs, details, and interviews with the original vehicle builders and collectors were compiled to make sure no detail was left un-accounted for. All of the interior and exterior Time Machine components were made to last, but at the same time not damage the integrity of the original vehicle. (...) Motion picture parts replicated through archival photos and extensive research; working interior and exterior lighting system including the "Flux Capacitor", "Time Circuits" and exterior "Flux Dispersion Banding.'

The Start of Computer Games

The Start of Computer Games 06/05/2005 11:37 PM

“The first game invented specifically for the computer appeared in early 1962. A new $120,000 computer had just arrived at MIT that was faster and easier to use than the handful of other hulking machines on campus. And a group of young MIT programmers who just happened to be reading science fiction books about space battle had been itching to test it out. In less than a year, the programmers, led by Steven Russell, produced…

Table of Contents: BASIC Computer Games: Someone scanned in all thes from the classic book "BASIC Computer Games" from 1978. I damn-near memorized this book back in the 7th grade. I programmed half the games, even though half the time I could get them saved to tape so I lost them and had to re-type them very time I wanted to play. This was also the origin of my "copy and hack" coding strategy.
