isk.harvard.edu/ Welcome to Your Disease Risk, the
source on prevention. If you were looking for Your Cancer Risk,
don’t worry. You’re in the right place. We’ve simply expanded.
Now, in addition to cancer, you can find out your risk of four other
important diseases and, as always, get personalized tips for
preventing them. Your Disease Risk is an educational website developed
by the Harvard Center for Cancer Prevention. Based at the Harvard
School of Public Health, the Center promotes prevention as the primary
approach to controlling cancer and other chronic diseases.
The Your Disease Risk site began as the Harvard Cancer Risk Index, a
pen and paper cancer risk assessment tool first put together in the
mid 1990’s by the Risk Index Working Group at Harvard University. In
1999, the Risk Index was adapted to the Web as Your Cancer Risk. Then,
to give even greater emphasis to the importance of healthy behaviors,
Your Cancer Risk was expanded to include assessments for heart
disease, stroke, diabetes, and osteoporosis. The expanded site was
renamed Your Disease Risk and offers the follows risks assessments
online:

Technology Predictor Success Matrix
Technology Predictor Success Matrix
01/07/2004 03:17 PMThis is the first in a series of essays on a simple but important
question:
Which new technologies will make it, and which will
fail? The TPSM is an attempt to approach this question
systematically, by figuring out what the key success factors are for
new technologies. The premise is that you use the past to predict the
future. This introduction will also serve as the Table-of-Contents.
I’ve now posted the first four pieces, the sample of “Winner”
and “Loser” technologies, the list of candidate predictors, and
the matrix rundown on the first two candidate: Management Approval and
Standardization...

studio at Cybernet Systems, a technology research and development
company in Ann Arbor, MI. A digital camera in front of me is beaming
my image, real time, to a television monitor that shows a scene
typical of a nightly news weather report. There I am, standing before
a map of the Midwest. I extend my arm and begin twirling my hand over
the blip of Detroit. The map behind me zooms in on the area beneath my

system Cybernet developed to let weather broadcasters run through
their forecasts with simple flicks of the hand.”

fundamental change is yet to come. This is when our phones start to

cell phones, will take the role of technology to a whole new level in
our lives.
