Projects, Topics and Experimentshttp://www.super-sc
ience-fair-projects.com/Today your teacher announced
that your school is going to have a science fair and students are
responsible for exhibiting their projects. What do you feel?
Enthusiastic? Despondent? Dreadful? Fearful? Excited?" This statement
opens the Super Science Fair Projects site. Actually, whether student
or parent, science fair projects, while great ways to get students
actively involved in learning the scientific method and problem
solving, can be tough assignments. This site may help you with one of
the hardest parts: coming up with an idea. The site does a great job
of walking the visitor through the steps needed to plan and implement
a project, from Choosing a Topic, the Scientific Method, and writing
the Project Report. There are even tips on displaying your project,
rehearsing, winning over judges, and what to expect the day of the
fair. This is definitely a great tool to tap into when planning a
science fair project.[From The NSDL Scout Report for Math,
Engineering, and Technology, Copyright Internet Scout Project

This glowing, animated 'drum|head' project is a one-trick
pony, but it's a mildly amusing pony, like those seen in many Eastern
European videos.
Also, is it just me or did he hit it once and it didn't fire? I
smell a rat in this horse. (Thanks, Scott!)

Gartner bangs Microsoft drum again
Gartner bangs Microsoft drum again
12/04/2003 06:02 PMTHE GARTNER Group is predicting that it's not Microsoft which should
fear the Linux operating system, but the Unix vendors instead.
That will obviously re-assure Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer – they've
been worrying needlessly about Linux, and should go for a relaxing
holiday in Phuket rather than flying round the world cosying up to
governments. According to a report in CXO Today, Gartner made a
presentation in Mumbai yesterday which claimed RISC/Unix alliances
will crumble in the face of a Lintel (Linux-Intel) onslaught by 2006.

Free drum loops for GarageBand
Free drum loops for GarageBand
03/19/2005 03:27 AMiCompositions has partnered with Drums on Demand to give away a
package of free loops for GarageBand, Logic, and Soundtrack.
The collection, available exclusively for registered users of
iCompositions, consists of 90 drum loops, 19 "single hit" sounds for
applications such as sound effects, and 9 "loop layers" for building
your own drum loops. Unlike other free loop packages, these loops were
recorded live by Drums on Demand?s production professionals instead of
being created through software-generated instruments.
The Drums on Demand free loops package joins the recent AMG+iC package
from loops producer AMG as the second batch of loops offered through
iCompositions. The previous package contained more than 200 loops,
making a total of 296 loops available to registered iCompositions
users.
iCompositions is a community for users of Apple?'s GarageBand music
creation software. Launched just hours after Steve Jobs unveiled the
application on January 6, 2004, iCompositions has grown to contain the
largest catalogue of GarageBand music in the world with nearly 8500
songs from more than 13,500 artists.
