studios and production facilities to create high-definition DVD titles

rates comparable to those for standard-definition DVD video content.
WMV HD titles can be played on the latest-generation Windows XP-based
PCs, including the popular new Windows® XP Media Center Edition,
which integrates into the living room to provide a top-notch home
entertainment and online computing experience. Sonic plans to ship its

Microsoft Windows Media Player 10
Microsoft Windows Media Player 10
09/03/2004 08:18 AMThe most striking change to Microsoft Windows Media Player 10, the
much-awaited upgrade to the player/jukebox that ships on most new PCs,
is its dramatic cosmetic overhaul. Windows Media Player (WMP) no
longer feels like a freebie utility thrown in with the OS (think
Notepad), but is an application you'll actually want to use. By giving
you easy access to all of your multimedia files (music, photos, and
video) and helping you accomplish the tasks you're likely to want to
do with them, WMP 10 at least equals — and in our estimation
surpasses — the current leader in the field, MusicMatch Jukebox 9.

05/28/2004 11:00 AM
DPReview has a little more
information about iRiver's upcoming H300 series players, with much of
the same information we reported previously, but this time with a
price: ¥47,800 (~$430) for the H320 20 GB version and ¥59,800
(~$540) for the H340 40GB version. That's more expensive than the
iPod, even, but you get a color screen, 16 hour battery life, and a
device that meets the USB On The Go specification (USB Host,
basically) so that you can connect almost any USB device to the unit
and transfer files back and forth without a computer. (Thanks,
Junki!)
