Gothamist launches recipes

Gothamist launches recipes 07/28/2004 09:28 AM
Yesterday Gothamist launched a new food section that will feature a weekly column/recipe from Joe DeSalazar, founder and chef of foodie. Using Thomas Keller's Butter Poached Lobster recipe as a starting point, Joe's created Butter Poached Lobster & Peach Salad Avocado, Mint, Frisee. It sounds delicious and like something I might have to try and create. I'm sure I'll be checking in weekly to see what else Joe concocts.

IDF roundup 03/17/2005 02:53 AM

With the parade of multicore chips at the recently-concluded Intel Developer's Forum, it was crystal-clear that the company has finally left behind the last vestiges of the hunt for megahertz. Instead, we have a newly-branded desktop CPU, the Pentium D, and a host of other multicore products. Join Hannibal as he looks back at the IDF and discusses where Intel is headed next.

E3 roundup

E3 roundup 06/05/2005 10:53 PM

Another E3 is ready to wrap up. Before it rides off into the sunset until 2006, check out Kurt Mackey's roundup of all things E3.

The big news at this year’s E3 was the introductions of next generation consoles from Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft. The marketing material’s been covered pretty extensively, and E3 was a good chance for scrubs like me to get (or attempt to get) some more information about the upcoming consoles.

Microsoft was the big winner when it came to showing off next-generation consoles. Sony was second, and about all Nintendo had to say about the Revolution was that it's about the size of three DVD cases. Read on for the definitive E3 summary.

Bug Roundup 10/28/2003 11:08 PM

Walter Ian Kaye writes about a bug in Safari 1.0. I really appreciate the reduction for this issue and will take a look. It should be easy to fix.

Update: I have fixed the bug. Thanks for the great reduction, Walter! I've added your page to our list of regression tests.

The big roundup

The big roundup 04/14/2005 12:54 PM
Websites that have gone live with embarrassing placeholder text. Plus May 1st Reboot encourages standards-based entries. Plus Style Master CSS editor unveils educational pricing. Also: What are desire lines? And this: Apple should hire John Gruber. (With a dash of Scoble love.) Plus the Unofficial Apple Weblog moves and retools. Last but not least, Acid 2 puts browser makers on notice. (And some browser makers actually notice! Dave Hyatt uses it to start fixing CSS bugs in Safari.)

Robosapien Roundup 08/18/2004 04:15 PM
Several interesting Robosapien items have been submitted lately. From Gizmodo comes news of a giant Robosapien outside the Macy's department store in New York. Also, zodiak has written an article on the Robosapien's internals that includes lots of very clear photos. That sort of information will come in handy if you plan on entering the SERVO Magazine Hack-A-Sapien contest. Also some DPRG members dissected a Robosapien at a recent RBNO. If you haven't got a Robosapien yet, they're still available from Amazon.com at a discount. Links to more photos and video of the Robosapien are available in a previous robots.net article.
