DIY Bluetooth Pistol Mouse

DIY Bluetooth Pistol Mouse 06/24/2005 04:01 PM

btgun.gifEssentially, this is a wireless, Bluetooth version of the wired Monster Gecko PistolMouse. By removing the Bluetooth guts of a Targus mouse, BT has been able to meld the shooting magic of pistol mice with the wireless magic of Bluetooth, creating, if you will, a fusion of magic. I love technology.

Review: Belkin Bluetooth mouse

Review: Belkin Bluetooth mouse 09/23/2004 09:57 PM
I've been looking for the ideal Bluetooth mouse almost as long as I've had my PowerBook G4. Unfortunately this isn't it. I chose the Belkin bluetooth mouse for its price and number of buttons, and because Microsoft's Bluetooth IntelliMouse isn't compatible with Macs.

The Belkin mouse is fairly large, but is very comfortable to use if you're right-handed. If you have a computer with Bluetooth built in, you won't need to use any adapter with it, which makes it more convenient than regular cordless mice.

Bluetooth Wireless Mouse Recommendation
Needed
12/17/2004 06:32 PM
Okay, I'm really digging this full-szied bluetooth keyboard for my Powerbook. So much so, that I'm tempted to buy a second one to leave at work. But having a larger keyboard keeps my hands uncomfortably far from the touch pad. Anyone got a recommendation for a bluetooth mouse that has more than one button (sorry, Apple) and works well with a Powerbook? I'll probably use it left-handed about half the time, so I'd prefer one that is not shaped for...

PC World editors evaluate eight wireless mice and keyboards, and Bluetooth's advantage is nowhere to be seen: The editors generally preferred less expensive, more responsive, easier-to-configure RF devices that use proprietary protocols. Their favorite Bluetooth set is $250, which is steep, but it was the best they found in the bunch. A $50 or $65 RF keyboard/mouse combo with plain RF is recommended....

MacMice The Mouse BT: Two Buttons,
Scrollwheel, Bluetooth Brings Apple
Firmly Into 2001
06/25/2004 08:53 AM

mousebt_240_1.jpg imageMacMice has updated their 'The Mouse' -- you know, the one that adds a right click and a scrollwheel to an Applesque mouse -- now incorporating Bluetooth, to come up with The Mouse BT. But they're not late to market, no. Instead, they took their time to "eliminate many of the annoying shortcomings that are present in earlier BT mice."

You know, I actually saw one of these The Mouses the other day in person (a corded one, not the Bluetooth model) and they really look a lot better in person than they do on their website. Something about their photos makes the acrylic shell look rough, but it really isn't when you actually see it.

Bluetooth EDR: Triple Speed Bluetooth

Bluetooth EDR: Triple Speed Bluetooth 06/10/2004 11:38 AM

bluetooth.jpgThe Bluetooth SIG, the group that controls the standards that define the short-range radio networking technology has announced a proposal for a new version of Bluetooth that offers data rates almost 3 times as fast as the previous version. Called Bluetooth EDR (for Enhanced Data Rate), the new specification claims data rates of up to 2.1Mbps and remains backward-compatible with the original Bluetooth spec. No word, however, if the enhanced data rate will causes a proportionate decrease in range, not unlike 802.11g compares to 802.11b.

Myron Krueger began his pioneering work in interactive art in 1969. He was one of the first to explore the aesthetics of interactivity with his “responsive environments.” ¶ While preparing a talk that included a reminiscence of Krueger demoing Videoplace in the 80s, I was surprised he’d not yet merited even a stub in the Wikipedia. While that may eventually motivate me to register and start the page, for now, I will just share some links. [more inside, including videos]
